Egyptian Cleopatra Adult Halloween Costume Size 4-6 Small (D48192S)(DF24)

Egyptian Cleopatra Adult Halloween Costume Size 4-6 Small includes: Dress w/ attached belt, neckpiece, headpiece and cape w/ attached armband and cuffs.

So it's Halloween today. What do you plan on wearing for this once a year American Festivity? When searching for ideas for Last Minute Halloween Costumes for Guys, you have to ask yourself if you are on a budget or not. If you are not on a budget, the solution is simple. Grab any old shirt you already own, a white T-Shirt and throw some Cherry Cool-Aid on it. This is an Easy Halloween Costume that will appear as blood and make you look very scary.

To bloody up your face some, go ahead and put some Red Food Coloring in Karo Syrup then dab it on your face a bit. For Kids with parents on a budget that want scary Last Minute Halloween Costumes for Kids, take an old cereal box and staple rubber bands on each end. Then cut holes for the eyes and nose, but play with it and bend it until it fits your face comfortably. You can also easily make swords and daggers out of cardboard and Elmers Glue. These are Easy Homemade Costumes people have been making for years that don't cost you anything.

If you do want to pay for a costume, try Target and Walmart first. If you do pay for one there's a good chance you'll end up getting it a lot cheaper at a discount outlet than you would if you purchased one at a retail store. And this is just my opinion, but you'd be much better off just making a Last Minute Halloween Costume with materials around the house. Not only would this save you money but in my humble opinion these look scarier as well.

Last Minute Halloween Costumes for Women basically follow the same concept as Last Minute Halloween Costumes for Kids or Guys. But women may prefer to be a more feminine scary character like Elvira and carry a wand, which would easily be crafted from Cardboard and tape. Guys may prefer something more aggressive like a Gladiator or one of the new Cartoon Characters. Whatever your choice is, we wish you the best of luck.

2Pc Sexy Alice In Wonderland Fairytale Halloween Costume

*2Pc. Alice Peasent Dress W/Opaque Stocking W/ Bow Top SMALL BLUE
Customer Review: Very cute costume
I definitely loved this costume. It is short, but definitely not too short for halloween in my opinion. The dress has a slight bit of stretch to it, though I'd recommend paying close attention to the waist measurement when deciding which size to order (there's a size chart on leg avenue's website). As costumes go, the quality was definitely very decent.
Customer Review: Alice in wonderland costume review
It was the right size and it came to me on time. There was nothing wrong with it.

Halloween and All Saints Day are twin occasions. One, through historical and traditionally cultural celebrations, points to the observance of All Saints Day, which focuses less on the macabre and more on the spiritual. One is no less an occasion for confronting the reality of death than the other.

Halloween has come to be a commercialized, more frivolous and mundane occasion, while All Saints Day is more dignified, more concentrated on the passing of a dear family member, individual friend or collective group of deceased persons who have borne considerable importance in our lives.

No one argues that one is more or less important than the other. It could be said that Halloween is the opening act. It is the opportunity to allow one to move from celebration to contemplation. Death, in both cases, is still a stark reality. Perception of and management of death differs in the two.

Many memorial services today are less somber and more celebratory. Recognition is given to the value of the life of the deceased and to their passing from our presence. It becomes an affirmation of their importance, example, lessons taught from their time among us.

All Saints Day, as an annual event, catches up all who have died in the past year and gives public opportunity for a renewed remembering of their importance to our lives.

Like Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras, Halloween is more a human experience, a frivolous regard for what follows, which is the awareness of death, and in the case of Lent and Easter, an acknowledgment of Resurrection. One does not occur without the other. While there is an element of paganism in these acts, there is struggle and resistance and finally surrender.

Halloween is another way to confront death. And, if one readies oneself to deal with the sure and certain prospect of death, there is no impropriety in facing it in whatever way gives a person insight into recognizing its inevitability. Fear of death prompts lack of faith. Who knows, for sure, what lies on the other side? Like all mysteries no solution, however couched in language, gives us a final picture of what death may be like in its existential state.

These human occasions, Halloween, All Saints Day, Fat Tuesday, even Good Friday, at best only give us a glimpse, and it is a glimpse made up of metaphysical experiences.

No arguments here, regarding, how one acts out one's faith and belief system. These in the moment experiences simply allow a pragmatic way for us to express a desire to reach beyond ourselves in life and to grasp what lies beyond in death.

So whatever, however you may go about incorporating these occasions in your own metaphysical moment, do so with satisfaction and joy that attempting to reach out for mercy and grace is an ever constant undertaking.

Sexy Rhinestone Cowgirl Western Halloween Costume - SMALL

Rhinestone cowgirl loves being the most overdressed cowgirl at the rodeo! Costume includes polyester/spandex knit western style snap front dress with rhinestone belt and hat. Includes silver lasso and bolo tie necklace.

Need a quick and easy Halloween costume that doesn't scare your budget? There are loads of clever, affordable and adorable options that anyone can make in just a matter of minutes!

Halloween costume stores have some great costumes - but many also have frightful prices. If you're on a budget - or simply prefer to use your creativity - there are plenty of easy options for making a clever, low-budget Halloween costume for your child.

Bunch of Grapes

This one is a classic! Have your child wear plain sweat pants and sweat shirt or a leotard and tights. Then just blow up purple or green balloons and stick them to the clothing with safety pins. Add a paper or cloth "stem" hat if desired. You can also use curled ribbon to make vine accents.

Sleep Walker

This is an easy one. Have your child wear pajamas, slippers and a robe. Mess up his or her hair for a bed-head look, and have them collect candy in a pillowcase.

Dirty Laundry

Use an old laundry basket, cut out the base, and then slip it over your child's head. Attach robe belts, scarves or rope to create suspenders to hold the basket in place. For the finishing touch, put some old clothing, empty laundry soap containers, dryer sheets and clothespins to create the "laundry."

Route 66

On a gray or black sweat suit, create a "road" with masking tape, then make road signs and attach them with tape or safety pins. Don't forget to make cars (or use small plastic ones) to add to the road!

Smarty Pants

This costume couldn't be easier! Start with a solid-colored sweat suit, then add rolls of Smarties candy to it with tape or safety pins, and viola! Instant "smarty pants." Best of all, you can eat part of this costume once Halloween is over!

Lego

If your little one loves Legos, this easy costume will be a hit! Using a large cardboard box, cut openings for your child's head and arms. Spray paint the box your favorite Lego color and allow to dry. Then use six plastic bowls (all of the same size) and glue them to the front of the box in two rows of three. Once the glue is dry, spray paint the front once again, making sure to coat the plastic bowls. Have your child wear solid colored sweat pants and pull-over sweatshirt (ideally the same color as the Lego), and you're all set! If you really want to go all out, use a small box and string to create a hat, using the same process as for the body, but use only one plastic bowl on top of the hat.

Bag of Leaves

This costume is incredibly easy - and incredibly adorable! You'll need a large black trash bag, artificial (or real) leaves, and solid-colored clothing. First, cut holes in the bottom and sides of trash bag for your child's head and arms. Then tape or glue artificial or real leaves to the outside of the bag. You can also tuck some leaves into the neck hole of the trash bag, leaving some of them partially visible (artificial leaves work best for this). If you want to add more volume to the bag, stuff crumpled up newspaper inside (no one will see it), and then tape or glue the bag shut at the bottom (leaving an opening for your child's legs).

Jelly Beans

Blow up some colorful balloons, but keep them small. These will be the jelly beans. Then, using a clear trash bag, cut holes into the bottom for your child's legs. Once your child steps into the bag, fill the are between their body and the bag with the jelly bean balloons. Using ribbon, create suspenders to keep the bag from falling. If you think it's necessary, attach a sign that says "Jelly Beans" to add to the front of the costume.

Chick Magnet

This is a fun costume for cute little boys! You'll need some baby chicks for this one (just paper ones!) and some plain clothing, such as a sweat suit. Simply attach paper chicks to the clothing with tape or safety pins, and consider adding a sign that says something like, "Yeah, I'm a chick magnet!"

Lame Excuse

This costume is perfect for slightly older children. On different sticky notes, write several (lame) excuses such as 'My dog ate my homework', 'My alarm didn't go off', 'Cough-Cough...I think I'm getting sick'. Just be creative and come up with as many as you can. Put the sticky notes all over your child's shirt (you may have to use heavy tape, as well). In just a matter of minutes, your child can become a lame excuse!

With a little resourcefulness and creativity, you too, can create a low-budget Halloween costume that's unique and entirely memorable.

When WCW lost its existence the wrestling community lost a promotion that put on some of the greatest matches in wrestling history. Because of the obsession of paying established stars like Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash ridiculous amounts of money to be part of WCW fans now remember WCW more for that reason and forget about the volume of classic matches they produced especially in the cruiserweight division division.

Much like TNA with it X- division today WCW's cruiserweight division was what attracted fans that where fed up with the plodding big men of the WWE, but just as TNA are starting to do now WCW ignored the cruiserweights once the big stars started to come and they became of little importance.

As you will see below many of the greatest matches in WCW where in the cruiserweight division . I hope looking at this list and remembering some of these great matches brings back some great memories.

First here's a music video that shows the highlights of my favorite WCW match of all time .

1. Rey Misterio Jr. vs. Eddy Guerrero - Halloween Havoc 97

2. Chris Benoit vs. Kevin Sullivan GAB 96 Falls count anywhere

3. Big Van Vader vs. Sting - Superbrawl '93 Strap match

Sexy 3Pc Proper Nurse Uniform Halloween Costume by Leg avenue

Since the release of the Twilight Saga many Twilighters have had some great Twilight Party Ideas. With the release of the movie this past November, and when the DVD is released, Twilight parties are going to be hot this year!

Twilight party decorating ideas can be taken from the Twilight Novel, or any of the other books in the Saga. If you are planning a vampire party this year, the perfect theme will be based on the 4 book Saga by Stephanie Meyer? This love story has sold over 40 million copies in over 37 countries.

You can start to think about your Twilight party ideas right now. You can have a movie viewing when the DVD comes out or you can have a different kind of Vampire Halloween Party. Life size stand ups of Bella and Edward will WOW everyone when they walk into your party. Imagine the surprise on their faces when they are greeted by Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. What a perfect beginning to your decorating. You can also find cut outs of James, Laurent and Victoria...those naughty, blood sucking, nomadic Vampires we met at the baseball game.

What do you mean Vegetarian Vampires?

Yes, the Cullen's are vegetarians...but what that means in vampire lingo is they drink the blood of animals, not humans. Your Halloween or Twilight party can be planned with a twist...Vampires without fangs. So that means no bloody Count Dracula Vampire party this year. You can go sleek and stylish rather than bloody and scary, like the Vampire parties we are all familiar with. The Cullen's are a rather sophisticated family and Alice, the family party planner, decorates with lots of style and taste. Of course, you could host a Halloween party where the old meets the new...and have fanged, blood drinking vamps along side the vegetarian Cullen Clan...just like in Breaking Dawn.

A great Vampire costume party prop is FX lenses. You know, those colored contact lenses that change your eye color. The Cullen's eyes, and the rest of the Vampires in the series, change. When they are hungry, or thirsting for blood, their eyes are black. When they have hunted and their thirst is somewhat satisfied, their eyes are golden or topaz. A newborn Vampire or a human blood drinker (like the Volturi) will have red eyes. This gives you several options as to what color lenses you will get. These special effect lenses look great...some of them are almost hypnotic! Homemade Costumes will be easy to put together if you decide to "become" Edward or Bella. They wear what kids everywhere wear. Edward will require a little makeup work. His skin is very pale and his eyes are black or light brown. His skin also sparkles in the sun...so you might want to use that look.

A Twilight Party Need Twinkle Lights

Don't I have Twinkle Lights? You might have some of the party supplies you need for your Twilight party ideas...Make sure you check your holiday decorations for lights and bulbs you can use. It's nice to be able to save some money on decorations! If you recall, when Alice decorated for a party, she used roses and lots of twinkling lights. So, first on your party decorating list is...Twinkle Lights. I love the white ones, but you can also be bold and use red or black if you can find them. Using red and black is a very dramatic decorating scheme.

Red and Black Decorations For Your Twilight Party

You can get decorating ideas for your Edward and Bella Party right off the Twilight book covers...Twilight- This book has hands holding an apple against a black background. The second novel in the Saga, New Moon, has a Parrot Tulip in red and white. The third novel in the Saga, Eclipse, has a piece of red satin ribbon against a black background. The final Novel in the Saga, Breaking Dawn, has a white Chess Queen and a red Pawn against a black background. So it looks like the color scheme should be red, black and white. What an intense backdrop this color scheme will create for your party.

Take all the decorating ideas you can from Stephanie Meyers' Saga. Think about a black table cloth with some white or red dishes. Make up silverware setting like you see in some restaurants. Wrap each place setting in a white napkin and secure it by tying a red satin ribbon around it. Try filling some glass cylinders with roses or see if you can order some red and white Parrot tulips from your local florist. Fill wine glasses (or some other small glass) with spray roses. These small roses are very delicate looking and open very nicely. I'm sure Alice Cullen would approve.

Use the Twilight Books as Decorations

The book covers are ideal to use as Twilight party decorations. Lay copies of them around the party room. After all, this party is based on what's in them, and they do have those great covers. Use red satin ribbons, apples and even chess pieces to set the mood of the party. Do you have any red and black Christmas balls? Put them into a glass cylinder. They will look really great with the Twinkle Lights.

Imagine what an interesting and intimate feeling your party will have. Twinkle lights, red and black and of course, the Twilight Soundtrack music playing in the background. If you can, clear part of the room to make a dance floor and keep the music low so people can hear each other!

Party Food Time!

Get Pizza or serve sandwiches. I like to plan easy party menus. Of course, if you like to cook or cater...go for it. There are several food ideas you can take right from Twilight ....Bella made some quesadillas for Charlie, there's the Fish Fry Billie Black brought and there are always Bella's mushroom ravioli. Red Drinks are easy enough to find...fruit punch, or use a mix of red juice and seltzer to make a red punch.

Keep your party desserts simple. My favorite dessert idea is Vampire Cupcakes. Sweet Cake with white icing and two red puncture marks on top. They are easy to make and taste great. They look really nice. Any red, black or white combination will work well. These novels give us so many great party ideas and decorating ideas...your Twilight party is sure to be a hit.

Have Some Fun Party Games and Trivia Questions!

You know enough about Edward, Bella and the rest of the characters to come up with some interesting Twilight party trivia questions. Have a couple of your friends put their heads together to come up with some good ones too.

Cast of Characters:
The Vampires:

  • Edward Cullen
  • Doctor Carlisle Cullen
  • Esme Cullen
  • Alice Cullen
  • Jasper Hale
  • Rosalie Hale
  • Emmett Cullen

The Humans:

  • Bella Swan
  • Charlie Swan
  • Jacob Black
  • Billie Black
  • Renee
  • Jessica
  • Angela
  • Mike
  • Eric

Have You Read the Twilight Saga Yet?

No?? I love the story. It tells us about Edward Cullen, a hundred year old vampire, and Bella Swan, a 17 year old high school student, who meet and feel an instant attraction to each other.
For Bella, this is a dangerous situation though she doesn't realize that at first. Edward is more attracted to Bella's human scent than he has ever been. He wants to drink her blood and it's a stronger attraction than he has ever had to fight before. They still find a way to be together...though, while Bella is human, this will never be easy. There are four books in the Saga and I read them in less than two weeks. I didn't think I would be so dazzled by these books...but I was!
Once you read the story and fall in love with the characters, like so many others have, you won't be able to wait to have your Twilight party!

Sexy Snow White Princess Halloween Costume W/Cape

3Pc. Princess Costume Incl Headband,Dress W/Embroidered Apple,Detachable Cape
Customer Review: Very cute
This costumer is very very cute. It fits really nicely but I did have a problem with my bra straps showing and the snaps to the cape kept coming undone - Nothing a few stratigically placed safety pins couldn't fix. Other than that it was a big hit with everyone who saw it.

As a new parent, you're likely full of anxiety and apprehension about your little bundle of joy. A costume seems like the least of your worries when you think of all the other dangers surrounding Halloween, such as cars being unable to see you and your baby in the dark or what to do with your baby at a Halloween party.

By taking a few proper safety precautions, you can ensure a happy Halloween regardless. Your best bet, if you decide to trick or treat, is to take the baby out before dark, just after dinner, with your other children. Choose colorful costumes and add reflective tape to the stroller and part of the costume. Halloween is a fun holiday and your baby will love the novelty of his or her costume design.

Ideally, a costume will be comfortable, not too hot, not too cold and easy to undo for changing time. There shouldn't be any appendages that will irritate the baby or trip the toddler. Remember that material-wise cotton is durable and comfortable, when compared to polyester, and plush fabrics are snuggly for the baby, but not necessarily so if you live in muggy Florida. Be sure to look over the costume design for anything that might be pulled off or choked on.

Avoid buying masks or using face paints on your baby and if you plan on participating in a trick or treat romp around the neighborhood to show off your newborn, then be sure you and your stroller are highly visible with reflective tape and light colors. Most importantly, check the label to be sure the outfit is flame retardant and machine washable! Now that you know the safety tips, it's time to think more creatively about finding the best infant and toddler costumes.

For your toddler, newborn or infant, whether they are walking or not, visit "Annies Costumes" for the costume you want. The sizes there are easily separated into newborn, newborn walker, infant of 12-24 Month and toddler 2T-4T. You'll melt browsing the selection of adorable plush baby and toddler costumes. There are Baby Einstein characters, a Shrek bunting, soft pink and blue bunnies, baby bees or baby bats, and all are just a little bit cuter than what you can find on other sites.

Also, there are some really creative costumes that aren't elsewhere, such as the creative money sack "Billion Dollar Baby" costume, a "Dazzling Baby Flower," a "Baby Strawberry," a "Little Trees Car Freshener" costume, the "Mini Muscle Man" costume, a "Tootsie Roll" or "Sugar Babies" candy bunting, a "Jack in the Box" bunting, the "Chili Pepper" suit and the "Sunflower" bunting. Toddler costumes like "Captain America," "Chewbacca," "Winnie the Pooh" and "Baby Thomas the Tank" really stand out.

The costume you choose is going to get trashed, you know this. It's going to be pooped in, drooled on, spilled on and spit up on. Many of the plush baby and toddler costumes are "spot clean only," which means you'll need to use a gentle non-abrasive laundry spot remover and hope there are no major messes. If your princess dribbles on her dress, then you can try a fine fabric cleaner and cold water via hand-wash. "Dry clean only" costumes may not be worth the money if they'll never be worn again. If you only paid $6.95 for it, then why bother paying $20 to clean it? Checking the label and opt for machine washable, and feed your baby with bibs or in another outfit before getting dressed up for Halloween fun!

Are you planning a Halloween party and need halloween monsters ideas to spark spectacular fun? Then visit Mike Selvon portal and also learn more about the costume for toddlers.

Child's Pokemon Ash Halloween Costume (Small 4-7)

When it comes to getting a tattoo we all know that it can be pretty pricey. With the economy getting worse everyday people have simply started to think twice about spending that money on something like a tattoo. Well it seems that a few tattoo studios came up with what they thought was a clever idea. These tattoo studios offered to give $30 Halloween tattoos all through the month of October. While this might be somewhat of a good idea, it can also be a bad idea.

For instance, picking out a tattoo design is very important and it's not a decision you should take lightly. However, if you are like me and love Halloween, than getting some sort of Halloween tattoo may not be such a bad idea. But if this would be your first tattoo I recommend holding out. Chances are if you got a pumpkin, black cat, skeleton, witch or some other Halloween character tattooed on your body as your first tattoo you will more than likely be regretting it before it even heals. But on the other hand if you are covered in tattoos and have a lot of them and you are trying to feed your addiction of getting tattoos than by all means go for it.

The moral of this story is...if it sounds too good to be true than chances are it is. However, if these tattoo studios were to offer any old tattoo for $30 I would say what are you waiting for..head down there now. Just remember this tattoo will be with you forever so think long and hard before you decide to get inked.

One day of binge eating candy can sabotage your weight loss plan and cause you to gain 1-2 pounds. Here are a few tips to help you to avoid gaining weight around the Halloween Season.

Tip #1: Eat a balanced meal before going trick-or-treating!

Eating a balanced meal and feeding your kids a balanced meal is a great way to curb the sugar/ dessert cravings. Try to fill up on lean protein, veggies, and fiber before your first piece of candy.

Tip #2: Workout before going out!

If you workout or exercise before trick-or-treating, your body will be more sensitive to insulin. All this means is that your blood sugar will be lower and your hormones won't fluctuate as dramatically after you eat candy or desserts.

Your body will digest sugar a little better if you workout before going out.

Tip #3: Eat a piece of fruit before you eat a piece of candy.

Before sitting down to a big bag of candy, eat a piece of fruit and drink 8 ounces of water. Eating fruit and drinking water has a significant role on satiety (the feeling of fullness). You'll likely eat much less candy if you start with fruit and water.

Tip #4: Give away the excess.

After Halloween, it's time to purge your kitchen and cabinets of the remaining temptations. Bring the extra candy to work or give it to someone else who can distribute it elsewhere.

You could always throw away the excess, but I know that seems wasteful. So try to give away the excess candy the day after.

Tip #5: Don't eat any candy at all!

I know this is a hard tip to follow. But, I want you to know that candy can be very addictive. Once you have 1 piece, you may feel like you need to keep eating until you're sick (I've been there.)

Do your best to resist temptation. We're all human, but if you can avoid eating a ton of sugar during the days leading up to and following Halloween, you can avoid gaining excess fat.

Antique shops are all over the world. People think of antiques as items that can be bought now and will gain value over time. These can be seen as great investments for an individual and their family; however, if a person is looking for a particular antique item, then they should consider using the internet as a source for their search. Antiques are a great source for enjoyment for most people and the easier they are to find and purchase, the better.

A wonderful site that was established in 1996 for those looking to find the perfect antique shops is "Antique Shop". This site is unique in that it is a directory linked site to numerous antique dealers all over the country.

A person only needs to enter their zip code in order to shop this website. This website also offers a discussion forum for the classical antiquities buyer so that they can ask questions with others who share their passion.

Nowadays, if a person is looking to find a directory that includes little flea market shops that specialize in some of the best hidden treasures around, then they should check out what the internet has to offer. A great site is "Antiques Navigator".

If a person lives in a rural area, then finding great antique stores can prove to be exhausting. Luckily, this is a gem of a site. If a person is going antiquing or junking as some call it, then this is the site to use to map out their day.

Finding antique shops can be simple if a person only knows where to look. The phone book can offer a variety, but if a person does not know what they are looking for, then they can become easily overwhelmed.

Luckily, technology has caught up with items of the past. Thanks to the world of the internet a person can locate a ton of great antique dealers that offer everything from the jewelry of the thirties to the hottest thing in stamp collecting. Becoming a collector has never been more fun and exciting.

Dreamgirl Wig (Natural Red) Deluxe Adult Halloween Costume Accessory (DW2472807)(DF33)

Dreamgirl Wig (Natural Red) Deluxe Adult Halloween Costume Accessory

The day of the baby shower is just around the corner, and you're still wracking your brain, hoping to figure out the right kind of gift to buy for the expecting mother. With so many options out there, where should you start? Gift registries, gift idea magazines, even articles such as this have so many ideas to throw at you, that it's quite easy to get overwhelmed. Well, you should try and start simply.

First, consider the big ticket items that are very popular as baby shower gifts. Cribs, bassinets, Moses baskets, and other furniture items are popular choices for gifts for a baby shower. Of course, these items are somewhat expensive, so in many cases it is the close family member or friends of the mother to be that purchase them. Or, party guests may get together and purchase a playpen, car seat, recliner or other high-priced baby shower gift as a group present.

More economical choices for baby shower gifts are popular for obvious reasons. It's always nice to be able to give the mommy-to-be your very own present, one that is just from you, will be enjoyed, but won't necessarily send you over budget. These types of gifts for a baby shower include such essentials as diaper bags, travel packs for the car, baby wipe warmers, diaper pails, crib bedding sets, baby monitors, bottle warmers, slings and baby carriers.

Finally, there is quite a list of low-end baby shower gifts that don't cost a lot, but definitely provide the recipient with function and appeal. Packages of diapers, diaper organizers and changing table organizers, books on parenting and babies, baby toiletries like nail clippers and brushes and combs, bibs, bottles and pacifiers, other eating utensils like plates and bowls, and toys and soft, plush animals.

Of course, you don't necessarily have to purchase pre-manufactured and pre-packaged baby shower gifts. If you really know the interests and preferences of the expecting mother, consider putting together a care package for her, her baby or even both of them. If she is planning on breastfeeding, skip the purchase of bottles, and instead assemble a care package that contains supplies and essentials for breastfeeding. The same approach could be used for a woman who is planning on using cloth diapers for her baby. Your choice of baby shower gifts for her might be a package of cloth diapers and covers.

Remember, no matter what you choose to purchase for your choice of a baby shower gift, be sure to remove price tags and include a gift receipt before the day of the shower.

K. Green has had the pleasure of planning several baby showers and with that has purchased all sorts of baby shower gifts.

Remote control hobbies have been popular for a long time. Even if you haven't enjoyed playing with your own RC car, helicopter, or boat, remote control vehicles are still fun to watch others play with! In 2008, hobby shops all over the world witnessed a huge surge of interest and excitement about remote control hobbies in general, but particular interest in remote control boats.

It doesn't seem to matter what age you are, either. It's pretty common now to see remote control boats being maneuvered in local streams and creeks adjacent to both urban and suburban parks alike. Just in time for Christmas, those prices are coming down, too.

What's more fun when relaxing by the pool or at the park than watching someone play with an RC boat? Remote control boats and accessories are right around 50% off right now in most hobby shops and online stores. That said, why not get your own?

Educational hobbies that involve remote control toys are a fantastic way to show your young enthusiast how to care for electronic devices. Planning your purchase around sales will keep the sting out of your wallet, too!

Helicopters, rockets, and planes are usually included on r/c aircraft carrier ships. How much fun is that? Right now, instead of the nearly $150.00 and up you could spend on one, they're available for under $79.00. That's a savings of 47%! Pretty good for a remote control boat.

Remote control boats can be small enough to fit into the palm of your hand, or large enough to need its own body of water! Choose from:

  • Bass fishing boats
  • Sailboats
  • Offshore boats
  • Pirate ships, with cannons!
  • Yachts
  • Police boats
  • Even waverunners!

It's important to note that some of these boats can be up to 3ft long and $400.00, but like anything else, you can spend as much as you want to on them! Beginners should go for the bargain, and plan ahead for that kind of spending. It can get expensive.

Maybe I'll see you down by the creek at our local park, playing with my new RC Jet Ski I just got for almost 50% off.

Who am I kidding? That will be my son. I'll be next to him, watching! You've got to be quick around here with your remote control hobbies. They're kind of hard to keep secret.

The ancient Celtic New Year festival of Samhain became known in Christian times as Halloween when like many other ancient Celtic festivals it was adapted by Christianity. It marks the end of Celtic pastoral year when the herds of domesticated animals were led back to the shelter of their stalls for the winter and the beginning of the new year which is marked by ancient customs of ritual cleansing and renewal. Great splendid, dramatic and terrifying events occur at this time and it is the occasion of joyful celebration.

Throughout the Celtic world, all fires were extinguished and ritually reignited from the sacred druidic ceremonial fires. All night the landscape was illuminated by countless sacred fires. It was a magical and very spiritual time when the separation between the earthly world and the Otherworld disappeared and for a moment man and spirit had free access to the Other's world. Magical horses, bulls and birds, fairies and other strange and wonderful creatures are said to have wandered freely about the land.

Some tales tell of two young men tempted into crossing over by a beautiful fairy woman into a house full of revelers, who are feasting and dancing wildly. There one of the young men accept a cup of fairy wine while his companion leaves. The companion returns on the morrow only to find friend, house and women vanished, not to be seen again until the following Halloween when they and the young man are seen again, still dancing.

And there are many more stories too numerous to mention here.

My name is Maire Ni Gallachoir and I am Irish. I was raised surrounded by the legends and symbols of the Ancient Celts.

My mother would tell me some of them before I would go to bed, and as a result I would have very colorful dreams.

Even though I know a lot about the Celts and their wonderful culture, I still read every book I can find on the subject.

And now I want to share some of this knowledge with you.

I hope you will enjoy every moment you spend reading my articles.

In Spirit,

Men's Blue Sailor Uniform Halloween Costume

You bet! They were most definitely in the minority but they were never the less there and very able. So don't worry about sacrificing your well established credibility among your fellow renaissance faire friends when you buy a really cool and very authentic pirate costume...one you wanted bad, you wanted real bad! Rest assured you are in the right when you carry your own cutlass!

More later about who you can base you character on but first let's get to that killer outfit designed with the essentials. Did I mention that this is also a costume that is not only renaissance faire appropriate but will wear well at that Halloween party where we adults get to dress up or down, your call.

Chemise

The chemise, the foundation for ALL renaissance era clothing or costumes is important. The fortunate thing about a pirates costume is that if they were a pirate and were caught they typically were executed. So flaunting the statuary laws by dressing above their station and risking a fine was not a major concern, know what I mean? All chemise styles, fabrics and colors, except purple of course are appropriate for your new festival garb. Stick to the full length version even though you are running with the guys.

Over dress

If you are going to base your costume on the pirate why not be the captain? Do you want to be climbing the rigging or swabbing the decks? Didn't think so! You will however need to be armed. A loose fitting chemise and equally loose over dress can hide many weapons.

Boots

Thigh high boots, maybe for that Halloween party but not at the local renaissance faire. It would not be quite authentic and would most definitely be uncomfortable walking around in them at the fair all day. You will want them to be black leather and calf high. They will not be as fitted as most women wear today but loose and roll down a little at the top.

Lady Mary Killigrew

She was a daughter of a pirate and married to a pirate from Suffolk England. Her husband was appointed by Queen Elizabeth I to the rank of Vice-Admiral and was charged with suppressing piracy. When the good captain Sir Killigrew went to sea the Lady Mary "commandeered" her castle staff and went to sea herself. Her luck finally ran out in 1570 when she captured a German merchant carrying freight and sailed it to Ireland to see what she could get for her pirates work.

One problem the owner of the vessel she pirated was a friend of Queen Elizabeth, this is not a good thing. There are multiple versions of what took place next but the outcome was that she quit the pirating business...and took up fencing stolen goods! What a gal!

Want to learn more about the Renaissance Faire and the appropriate costumes to wear? Stop by my Renaissance Faire Costumes blog and learn more about the clothes of the Nobles, Peasants and Court of Renaissance Europe. Lady Mary was a pirate but lets not forget she was also a Noble Lady so she may have also worn a beautiful Avon Jupon gown of velvet with a satin chemise. One costume is never enough!

Pump That Music. What would a party be without music? Now everyone's idea of party music can be different. Maybe your crowd likes pop -- or techno music. But for a Halloween party you'll want to throw in some classic Halloween favorites. Include the music from popular Halloween movies like Scream or even Friday the 13th. Don't forget the Monster Mash -- always a popular favorite. Organize your music ahead of time so you just push and play. Be sure to ask friends to bring along their favorites too so everyone has a chance to listen to their favorite type of music at the Halloween party.

Add Some Special Effects. No Halloween party would be complete without some special effects. You could add some cobwebs in the corners, complete with creepy spiders. Or get into the spooky fog by using some dry ice -- very easy for even beginners to use. There are many Halloween special effects you can purchase that you simply plug in and turn on that are lots of fun. Many are activated by someone walking past them. Check out your local party center for ideas.

Plan a Menu Suited for the Day. Every party needs good food and this includes a Halloween party. If your party is more casual, you could even do something like take out pizza and bowls of yummy snacks in strategic places. Or if your party is more fancy, try for something that really gets attention. The key to Halloween party food is to plan variety and to also be sure there is enough food for everyone to enjoy.

Include Spooky Activities. A Halloween party is the perfect time to tell ghost stories or even to hold a seance. Another fun idea is to have someone give tarot card readings. Or if you plan it right, you can do all three activities at your party! This would be a unique party that everyone would be sure to remember. Halloween is a time when many people are open to trying something a little unique and spooky that they might otherwise not do -- like a seance or a tarot card reading.

Tell Everyone to Dress Up. Who could imagine a Halloween party if people come in regular clothes? Halloween parties are simply meant to be costume parties -- each and every one of them. It can be fun to have a costume contest at your party -- or even a theme for your costumes like couples. There are lots of things that people can do with their costumes. http://www.pumpkinkits.com offers you all the ideas that you need for the best Halloween party ever - prepare to shock your friends!

Adult Disney Cinderella Halloween Costume

Customer Review: Not worth the money
The material is very cheap for the price you pay. When i frist put the dress on it ripped in 3 different spots. It states that it fits most sizes up to 14 but i know it wouldn't fit anyone past 36D in the chest. This dress is not portioned right for any size and i'm a size 5/6. On me it was tight in the chest, loose on the shoulders, and loose around the stomach and hips. It did however arrive 4 days after i bought it. Over all experiance was not the best it could have been for the price i paid.

Life has become very easy and comfortable with internet. Internet has added to the comforts of our life, sitting in our premises we can pay our bills, do shopping even organize a wedding. While organizing a wedding or a party your search for caterers starts.

Finding a catering service is easy but finding the best caterers can necessitate some of your energies. Before searching online for catering services please nail down the date and event venue with menu in mind which can be altered with the new suggestions of the food caterers.

Internet is a great source of food and beverage services and you can find a caterer through a company by using a major search engine like Google, Yahoo or MSN. Suggestions should be welcome from your family and friends. Also try to recall the online catered parties you attending and what advice they had about their catering services?

If anyone known had hired a good catering service you can take the URL of their choice catering service and book them if they appeal you.

Otherwise start your search for caterers. Catering is one service where you are likely to prefer a local supplier beside for some corporate parties, which might go for specialized and reputed catering organizations headquartered elsewhere.

To begin with your caterer search you should first try searching in catering directories, which serve as a storehouse of various catering service providers with categories to precise your search. If catering directories does not prove to be helpful then use the major search engines for your nearest and best catering service.

Take a tour of the catering web sites and check for the various catering services offered by them.
Also look at the caterer's portfolio of color photographs and their presentation, whether the food is presented beautifully and appears delicious? Presentation holds equal importance to the taste of the food, so make sure the food caterers are expert in food presentation also.

Before you hire a caterer service make sure they are licensed and properly insured and bonded. Clarify the dress code for servers and staff and any question if you have in mind regarding the organization of the event with the catering service's chief.

For parents who are not big fans of sugar, chocolate, or artificial colors and flavors, Halloween presents a real dilemma. You don't want to be the heavy and spoil the fun, but on the other hand, you also may not be eager to deal with a kid who is hyped up on sugar for weeks or even months after the big day. Here are some ways to handle that gargantuan pile of candy:

1.) Let them eat all they want for a certain period of time, then throw out the rest. Share your opinions about health and nutrition with your child, and collaborate together on a time frame that feels relatively okay for both of you.

Expect major indulgence during that time. You are not allowed to make even one tiny little comment like "Are you eating candy again?" or mutter as much as single "I told you so" under your breath. The beauty of this option is that your child gets to experience his own tummy ache, sugar crash, headache, brain fog, or whatever. And when you stay out of it, he's got nowhere to place the blame except the candy.

By the way, I asked my dentist about this, and she said a few days of total indulgence is not likely to lead to tooth decay. It's far more damaging to bathe the teeth in juice, soda, coffee with sugar, or hard candy on a regular basis. So you've got the green light from her to use the approach.

Oh, and if you go this route, you might feel better about it if you focus on serving ultra-nutritious meals during that time.

2.) Let them have one piece a day. When we did this, the candy became a major focus of every day- which kind, when would they get to eat it, could they have just one more piece today, pretty please, Mom? I was the candy controller, which was a job I didn't care for. This option may deprive your child of getting to experience the joys and perils of overindulgence, and thus remove the opportunity for her to learn to regulate her own intake. Some kids will lose interest or forget to ask at some point, and then you can just throw it away.

3.) Do nothing. Just keep serving nutritious meals and snacks, and let them work it out on their own. The idea would be to fill 'em up with tempting and tasty healthy stuff, thus leaving less room for candy and giving their bodies more nutrients with which to process the junk. When my kids were little, I was too much of a nutrition and control freak for this to work for me, but I put it in the list for those of you who are more laid back and trusting than I was.

4.) Buy them off. Some parents pay money, and others prefer to exchange toys or fun activities for the candy. This can work pretty well if the payoff is big and exciting enough. I met hardly any resistance when I made the offer a day or two after Halloween. When they are getting sick of candy anyway, a new toy or trip to the aquarium looks pretty appealing.

5.) Teach them the possible effects that candy could have on their bodies, moods, and concentration, tell them you know that they will figure out what feels best for their bodies, and let it go. Invest your energy in being a good role model and preparing nutritious meals instead.

6.) Substitute healthier versions. Sunspire makes tasty chocolate, Panda makes yummy licorice, and there are lots of other options at your local health food store, including vegan gummy bears!

7.) Argue about it every day until their trick or treat bucket is empty. Tell them their teeth will rot if they keeping eating all that candy. Try to make them feel guilty for liking sweets. And let me know how that works out for ya!

Whether you are making homemade baby showers centerpiece for the food table or the gift table, you can easily come up and create you own masterpiece. Creativity goes a long way and saves a lot of money! When you begin brainstorming centerpiece ideas, revert back to your overall theme. If the mommy-to-be is having a boy and you have a shower that focuses on all the different sports, then maybe you could have a toy wagon or Tonka truck full of toddler sport equipment. If it is a beautiful baby girl that is expected them you could Care Bears in Diapers as their pastel colors would be perfect.

For the food table, your centerpiece should be your cake, or a diaper cake. A diaper cake is a non-edible creative "cake" made of diapers with baby shower gifts attached to it. You can place it in a cake dish if you would like for an added effect. The diaper cake would look just as great on the gift table and can serve as both a gift and a centerpiece. You could also place miniature pacifiers, bottles, or carriages, (found at your local Dollar Tree), around the food table. Another cute idea for the food table include a basket lined with a clean baby receiving blanket and filled with cookies. For the final touch to the "cookie basket" add a bottle filled with pastel colored m&m's! If your theme involves rubber ducks, why not add a baby bathtub filled with punch to your food table with floating rubber ducks.

For the centerpiece of the guest's tables, you could use:

  • Candles shaped like baby bottles
  • Remove the nipple from baby bottles and use the base as a vase; insert fresh or artificial flowers
  • Remove the nipple from the baby bottle and insert candy
  • Styrofoam Baby Bootie Cups - these are adorable baby booties made from styrofoam cups that you can insert mints, jelly beans, etc. in.
  • Alphabet Blocks

The gift table could easily go without a centerpiece for an inexpensive baby shower as it is likely to be bright and colorful with all the wrapped gifts. As stated earlier, the diaper cake would be perfect. Other great ideas include:

  • Diaper wreath - this could also be hung on the delivery room door
  • Balloons - by themselves or attached to a diaper stuffed animal or floral arrangement
  • Floral arrangement

Making your own centerpiece is easier than you think and you will wow your guests and yourself with these great ideas.

Author of two books and many short stories, J.P. Ransom is busily writing a series of books called Colla'd Greens and two more upcoming books including a sequel to Born Evil. Obviously this author has caught the writer's flu!

Born Evil is a compact, 150-page book that is printed on acid-free paper - which may be of interest to the environmentally conscious consumer. I would categorize this book as a chilling horror, which involves an infant that is born evil. Traumatized by early experiences, only compounds Jonathan's natural inclination - a cruel desire to cause harm. Unprepared for a disturbed child, his adopted parents are continually wallowing in deep pits of overwhelming uncertainty. Rick suspects the truth, but Trish finds it very hard to imagine or even accept that little Jonathon is capable of such hateful acts.

I think the book makes a good point that some people are simply born with a desire to do harm, with no abusive situation to attribute these urges to. Readers are also shown how these urges can easily be encouraged through socially acceptable entertainment and through being witness to violent acts.

While reading Born Evil, I experienced a wide range of emotions from anger to sorrow and shock. The conclusion was exceptional and I look forward to J.P. Ransom's sequel."

Anyone interested in purchasing a copy of J.P. Ransom's book (ISBN# 1410788520) may find it useful to do an Internet search on the author. Reader may order the book in at any retail or online bookstore or through their local library.

Children's Pig Halloween Costume (Sz: Medium 8-10)

I can't tell you how glad I am that there isn't some movie this Thanksgiving about some dysfunctional family gathering.

Much as those films can bring laughter, "Gee I'm glad my family isn't that screwed up," I often didn't laugh because the families on the screen seemed saner than mine. Either way, the films often do not offer healthy modeling of the powerful healing that can happen in family gatherings.

For instance, right now I am here in Colorado, with Drew's family. Drew's mom came to pick us up at the airport and brought Mabel Barth, founder of the Listening Post to have lunch there.

Mabel is 100 years old, and one of the liveliest people I have ever met. She reached her hand out to meet me, and with her one working eye, connected to me with more love and presence than most people I meet who are half her age.

For 27 years, The Listening Post has provided a safe space for students of all ages to express feelings of joy, anger, rejection, failure and confusion. Practitioners set up tables with a sign, and simply listen to whomever approaches.

Each person is respected and accepted just as they are at the moment, with the opportunity to discuss options without judgment and without advice.

At one point the organization had volunteers in over 48 states. Mabel was fascinated with the work I do with women. She leaned in close to me and said, "you know, you can make people feel like a million dollars, just by listening."

I agree whole-heartedly. And it's not something that comes naturally to me. Although I love people, I grew up with a father who didn't like to listen to anyone. The longest conversation I've ever had with him lasted less than 5 minutes. And I've come to realize that it's been a core wound that has helped to shape my life purpose. Having not been seen nor heard truly for who I was growing up, I've learned the power of truly seeing others. And every time I practice the art of listening, miracles abound.

If you've ever had difficulty with family reunions, the main reason is because as children we grow up looking for a sense of validation from our parents and can contort ourselves into all sorts of interesting positions in order to try and please them (or displease them as the case may be.) In both cases, it is very easy to go into unconscious and reactive behavior.

A wonderful tool, to disarm old triggers, is to treat yourself this holiday season to the power of simply listening. Try and see if you can drop all agenda to fix, change, justify, or prove anything. You'll find that your ability to be fully present to each family member allows others to show up as their True selves.

And most importantly, turn an inner ear for your own needs. Make sure you have time to be fully present to your own emotions without judgment, agenda, or the desire to fix, and you'll be pleasantly surprised at how easily your true nature of appreciation and joy can surface as a result.

Happy, gracious, joyful Thanksgiving to you!

Navy Black Adult Costume

Includes: sailor top with details, dungarees and white cap.
Customer Review: Well made costume
This costume is well made and attractive. Actually looks better than in the picture. I was afraid it would be loose and frumpy, but was actually quite a good fit. Beware BuySeasons though, I paid for expedited shipping and it took 8 days for it to arrive.

Christmas has presents, Easter has eggs, the Fourth of July has fireworks and Halloween has costume parties. Everyone, especially adults, love Halloween because it is the time of year that you can pretend to be someone else, even just for a few hours. Costume parties are big this time of year, and if you are thinking of holding one of your own, here are a few tips for you.

Choose the Right Finger Food
When you are putting together your Halloween party, you should try and make sure you are able to provide the right kind of finger food for the event. Fruit cake will not be received well by the guests, but carrots and black olives will not only fit the colors of Halloween, but the black olives can be "eyes" for the guests to snack on. If you want some punch that fits the theme, use food coloring to give it that "bloody" look. Put some plastic spiders on the dishes, and you have a great finger food table, with some great Halloween finger food.

A Good Halloween Movie
Nothing can set the mood for a Halloween party like a scary movie, and if you have a big screen, all the better. When everyone is over, start a scary movie like Dawn of the Dead, Friday the 13th or any other classic. Turn off the lights and let everyone get right into the movie. Maybe at various times throughout, especially during a zombie movie, sneak up on someone and "attack" them. This will give the rest of the evening a very scary feel to it. It will also have everyone enjoying the root of Halloween; being scared and dressing up.

Halloween Games
Halloween is also well-known for being about games. You can try some of the age-old games like bobbing for apples, which is a lot of fun, or you can try some new types of activities. Perhaps a tour of a haunted house you have made. It will scare your guests and have them laughing at the same time. Costume contests, scary stories and more will also fit into the Halloween theme. Kid's Lobster Halloween Costume (Size: Small 4-6)

Halloween, a day of fright, folklore, goblins and above all fun for all those who are of a mind to simply enjoy themselves by letting loose their imagination however many may ask what is the history behind this holiday that has come to be celebrated through out the world? First off all we might ask what are the origins of the name Halloween and what if any meaning does it have?

Regarding the origins of the word Halloween, the answer is a simple one. It all started many centuries ago when there was a Catholic holiday called "All Martyr's Day"; celebrated on May 13 however it came to be that the date was changed to the 1st of November while the name transformed to All Saint's Day". This change prompted that October 31, the day before came to be known as "All Hollow's Evening". As one can now observe "Halloween" is the short form of these two words, put in to one.

This explains the name Halloween however what about the rest? Where did it came about that people took to putting on customs in an attempt to frighten others? Well the explanation to this lies in Ireland; as it was there and according to the calendar of the Celts that the 1st of November was the first day of the year which made the 31st of October the last day. Tradition had it that on this last day of the year which the Celts referred to as Samhain; the line that separated the living from the dead all but disappeared; making it possible for the souls of the dead to intermingle with the living. However the souls of the dead contacted the living with evil intentions. These being to posses their bodies so they might come back to the world of the living, thus escaping from the spiritual world. It was secure in their believe that ancient Celtics felt the need to put on costumes of fright which they felt would surely ward off those evil spirits which were bound to attempt to posses their bodies.

In a way one could see that this to the Celtics which eventually became a tradition was not really so much a matter of having fun but a form of saving their souls and bodies; therefore it was with this in mind that they also went about their neighborhoods making as much noise as possible. Now in the 21st century, we of course can think of this is as being silly but to the Celts it was anything but as it sometimes happened that after Samhain; a person was even killed by those near him or her who believed the person they were killing was no longer the person they had known but a body inhabited by an evil spirit. Naturally with the passing of the years, faith in the concept that one could have one's body taken waned and Halloween became a more ceremonial event as well as a joyous one for both children and adults.

Now a days for instance in the United States, Halloween is the second biggest money making holiday. Second only to Christmas, as it is during the weeks that lead up to this day that many a person; both very young and not so young go out and purchase a costume in order to attend either a Halloween party or go "trick or treating". Costumes however are not the only items available to those wishing to spend money on the celebration of Halloween as they may also acquire decorations, games and even foods connected with this day of ghosts and witches. Yes, Halloween even serves for the purpose of selling food products such as cakes and other edible objects which are made with decorations pertaining to this very special day of the year. All of which making Halloween a day which has more to it then just putting on strange clothes.

During the last few years however the fad has lead people away from costumes of freight such as ghosts or vampires and in to more diversified fields such as some of the younger ladies dressing up as princesses while some of the boys do so as action heroes such as Batman. Of course there are those who obtain their ideas for dressing up from history books and become Napoleon Bonaparte, George Washington or other such characters whose image has lasted through out the years. I for my part ;if I could find the costume which would make me the character I wish to be? This I can say with all sincerity that I would become Darth Vader or at least for the day that is Halloween. This being the case since I am a huge Star Wars fan.

Halloween in this day and age is celebrated all through out the world and contrary to what many may think it did not start in the United States but in Ireland and it was also there that the idea of bobbing for apples came about as the Romans brought it when they invaded many years later. Another Halloween tradition in the United States is "trick or treating" however this concept is not connected so much with Samhain but with a certain group of people; who during the middle ages performed an act which came to be called "souling". Souling being where a person would knock on somebody's door asking for "soul cakes" in exchange for which he or she would say a prayer for the souls of the dead relatives of the one who should be generous enough to give out "soul cakes". Today however this practice has changed in many ways as it has turned in to children going from door to door saying "trick or treat"; where the person answering the door is confronted with the choice of either giving a treat which might be a sweet or something of the sort or having some dastardly trick played on his home. These tricks however for the most part are harmless and limited to having something written on his or her door with chalk (which can be easily washed away) or some trash being left and rarely if ever go beyond what could be hailed as a prank.

In conclusion we could say that Halloween is a day that can be celebrated by just about anybody given its not being either a religious holiday nor one connected to patriotism; all of which makes it the ideal international holiday it has become. As for myself personally it has been in the time which I have lived in Poland that I have made every effort to bring the tradition of Halloween not only to my daughter, Paullina but to her friends who last year much to my near shock and that of several of the neighbors went out "trick or treating". All of which made me see that my efforts to bring the wonder of Halloween to Poland have not been in vain.

My name is Gianni Truvianni, I am an author who writes with the simple aim of sharing his ideas, thoughts and so much more of what I am with those who are interested in perhaps reading something new. As for the details regarding my life I would say that there is nothing that lifts them above the ordinary. I was born in New York City in 1967 on May 21st and am presently living in Warsaw, Poland where I wrote my first book "New York's Opera Society" now Available on Amazon.

For office bullies, every day is Halloween. And that's because office bullies wear masks all year around; they fear exposing their inner weakness. You can use this trait to your advantage when a bully insults or criticizes you in front of others. Try implementing these steps when you face bullying in the workplace:

Take a deep breath and allow yourself time to process the comment. Recognize the insult for what it is-and is not. It is not a constructive suggestion for change. It is a bully's challenge, designed to embarrass you.

Give yourself time to quiet your natural desire to defend yourself. Defensiveness puts you in a weaker position. Instead, allow silence to form around the bully's words.

You can experiment by asking the bully direct questions, such as "What makes you think that?" "How do you see that quality in my action?" This puts the onus on the bully to respond. Since there's likely to be little data or back up to support their original comment, the bully may have to back down.

Use the "broken record technique," that is, repeat your questions until the bully responds. Stating your question firmly and with confidence is key. There's nothing a bully fears more than being unmasked. When you remain calm, in control and ask questions, you're likely to expose the bully's weakness-her ability to think clearly and support her conclusions.

Confronting a bully's criticism in public takes self-control and practice. When you're ready, try another strategy:

Repeat the attack in your own words (paraphrase) and ask, "Is this what you mean?" For example, suppose the bully says, "These weak sales figures are your fault." After you recognize the insult as workplace bullying and allow silence (see numbers one and two above), say, "Are you saying that I alone am responsible for a five percent drop in sales in the first quarter?"

Ask the bully to tell you specifically what you did and ask for a possible solution, for example, "Can you be more specific...?"

State what you will do to implement the solution.

If the bully persists with another "helpful" suggestion or attack, clearly state again what you're willing to do and end the conversation. For example, "I'll take your suggestion and follow up with you [in a specific time period]. Let's move on."

There's something else to take into account. Targets often believe that everyone in the office is against them, especially the bully. This is usually not the case. The squeaky wheel does not necessarily earn the respect!

When you stand up to office bullies and unmask them you are acting not only for yourself but also for others. Who knows, they may be the next ones to be singled out by the bully. Most folks want to spend their time working, not dealing with bullying at work. Once you have established that you can hold your own in the face of a bully's criticism, others will side with you.

Make sure that Halloween is a part of your office celebration only once a year. Learn how to unmask the bully.

Halloween is a holiday celebrated on the night of Oct 31st. It includes trick-or-treating, ghost tours, bonfires, costume parties, carving Jack-o-lanterns and visiting haunted houses. Halloween has always been a controversial subject for Christians. Is it a evil, satanic holiday or not? Can christian children still observe the holiday and just have fun? Traditionally, Halloween was known as All Hallow's Eve, which was when the dead were remembered. The early settlers came from England and they brought beliefs about ghosts and witches with them. In the 1800's, many immigrants from Ireland and Scotland arrived in the U.S. and introduced their Halloween traditions. German immigrants brought their witchcraft and Haitian and African people brought voodoo, black cats, fire and witchcraft as well. So now that we know a bit of how Halloween came to America, is it possible for Christians to celebrate Halloween without compromising their faith?

Christians tend to have different ways to celebrate Halloween. Some people choose to have a "Harvest Party" and some just stay away from dressing their children in ghost and goblin costumes choosing to wear princess, cowboy and super-hero costumes instead. The Bible doesn't speak about Halloween, but gives us principles to follow. In Exodus 22:18 and others, witchcraft was punishable by death. And in the New Testament, Acts 8:9-24 talks about Simon's mix of occultism and Christianity not being approved by God.

So, should Christians celebrate Halloween or not? There is nothing evil about christian children dressing up in non-evil costumes and asking for candy. But there are anti-christian things that have to be avoided. Such as, dressing up in evil looking costumes, practicing witchcraft and playing with Ouija boards for instance. Christian parents need to make sure that their life reflects a saved life and a godly environment. And sometimes having a "harvest festival" in our churches instead can promote this environment as well. Another idea may be to hand out scriptures along with the candy to share God's word to people and their children. The decision is ultimately ours to make. In 1 Peter 1:16, God says; "Be Holy, as I am Holy." And if we remember to do this, we will continue to walk in the light because in God there is no darkness.
