Sexy French Maid Costume

Oui! Oui! Sexy Maid Costume includes the flirty black and white dress with attached apron. All you really need is a duster and you're set to go for Halloween or just for some fun at home.

As we move into October, the days are ticking down to Halloween. This is the second most popular holiday to decorate for (after Christmas). For many people the decorations for Halloween mean transforming their entire front yard into a graveyard or other eerie scene. But why leave all the fun out front? Bring some of it inside and decorate your accent tables to do it right.

Decorating the inside of your house for Halloween doesn't have to be as big of an ordeal as the outside is. You do still need to live in this space, so it needs to be manageable.

Look Online

Start your search for how to dress up your home online. There are plenty of interior decorators that will be happy to show you their Halloween best. While you may not be trying to go all out, like they do, their decorations may give you ideas for the direction you would like to go.

See What You Have

Look around your house. Chances are you have plenty of things that can take on another role for Halloween dcor, especially those fun items that you could put on accent tables. That black cloth you haven't gotten around to using for a craft project will be great to cover a coffee table or end table. Those accent tables that look like barrels are already perfect pieces of dcor that can become a part of your show.

Go Shopping

A trip to the store will likely give you many more ideas for ways to decorate some portions of your house. The key is to hold off on buying until you are sure of what you are doing. It's easy to think things are great looking and start buying without knowing how they will go together. Then, you get home and have a lot of things you no longer want to use, yet spent money on.

Start Putting It Together

Once you have a theme in mind, start to piece it together. If you don't have any unique furniture, you may want to drape the wooden pieces you have with cobwebs and black cloth. Then consider shopping for a few accent tables that can fit the theme. There are very affordable accent tables that are made specifically for Halloween. These are great if you have a lot of storage. If not, you may want to choose some that can be used year round.

Accent tables with wrought iron legs or those that look like they were made of old driftwood or barn wood can look like part of your Halloween dcor as well as part of the dcor you may use every day.

Once you get all your scary items in place, make sure you don't forget the important things - treats. Everyone expects that well decorated homes will be the ones giving out yummy treats. You can choose a couple of themed bowls to set up on your accent tables so there is always something sweet to snack on. After all, remember, if you don't have treats you may well end up having people playing tricks on you come Halloween night.

Author Jennifer Akre is an entrepreneur who runs different online specialty stores providing consumers with products and information on how to furnish and decorate any indoor or outdoor space. Whether it's your living, bedroom, or even your deck or patio, there are many tips you can use to make those spots both practical and appealing to the eye. Today, she offers advice on how to create a fabulous indoor area by using beautiful console tables and grand accent tables. Each would be a nice investment.

Sexy 3Pc Army Cadet Military Halloween Costume by Leg avenue

As a little girl I often loved to dress up as a gypsy, whether it was for Halloween or just for play. Maybe it's because I long to be free to do as I want and go where I wish, without the societal constraints we have to live by (that's why pirates are so fascinating to people too). Whatever it is, creating a fortune teller costume was the highlight of Halloween.

Back then there weren't many places to buy fancy costumes (nor did we have the money), so putting my own costume together was a bit of a challenge. Today we can purchase practically any costume we can think of and there are some pretty nice fortune teller Halloween costumes to choose from.

** A Brief History of Gypsy Costumes **

The gypsy people were called Roma or Romani. They are made up of loose nomadic tribes that wandered much of the European countries during the Middle Ages and often lived in caravans. There are still nomadic gypsies in the world today.

In the 15th and 16th centuries, the basic dress of the woman was a simple robe gathered at the neck worn over an under gown made of chemise. They also wore a length of cloth which was draped down the back, around the opposite waist, up the front and tied at the shoulder (think Roman toga). A turban was worn on the head.

As time went on, fashions changed. For the most part, gypsies actually dressed very similar to the peasants of the area in which they traveled and cultural dress of the time. Most of the style of gypsy clothing that we picture today probably came from the Renaissance period when laced vests, flounced skirts, men's breeches and pirate shirts were more popular.

** Making a Gypsy Halloween Costume **

For those that want to put together their own gypsy costume or are planning on being a "fortune teller" for Halloween this year, you may have to do a bit of shopping around at used clothing stores for some items. If you are handy with a sewing machine, there are many fortune teller costume patterns available as well. Here are some suggestions for both men and women (and boys/girls) that can easily be created once you get all the items:

Women/Girl's Fortune Teller/Gypsy Outfit 1

* Long tired skirt in a bright color.

* Gypsy style shirt - gathered scooped neck, puffy sleeves gathered at the wrist or long wide flowing sleeves

* Brightly colored front-laced vest

* Black leotard stockings

* Black shoes

* Brightly colored sash for the waist

* Matching bandana for hair

* Gold hoop earrings and some long, colorful beaded necklaces, bangles for arms

Women/Girl's Fortune Teller/Gypsy Outfit

* Long wide-flowing black skirt

* White peasant's shirt

* Black front-laced vest

* Black stockings

* Black shoes

* Brightly colored apron or a shorter overskirt

* Long black wig with tight ringlets or curls

* Colored 2" to 3" wide headband

* Gold hoop earrings and some long, colorful beaded necklaces, bangles for arms

Men/Boys Gypsy/Pirate Costume

* Black or brown breeches

* Black boots

* White pirate shirt

* Long-length black or brown vest preferably trimmed with a gold-colored braiding

* Red or another colorful long scarf for the sash at the waist

* Colorful bandana

* One gold hoop earring

Let your imagination run wild with the colors and styles you could mix and match. The trick is to dress in layers and use clothing that is loose and flowing. Add jewelry like bangles, long flowing necklaces, large earrings and ankle bracelets to enhance your outfit. Use colorful sashes accent the waist (and also to hold daggers). Women could drape several sheer scarves from their waist to hang down in points around a solid colored skirt. Include headbands, bandanas and even eye patches for that gypsy pirate look. Purples, blues, greens, bright yellows, reds and blacks are the most popular colors and will make your outfit stand out.

Halloween is coming! Have you picked out your costume? And more importantly have you picked out Halloween costumes for your kids? Time is running out!

I remember when I was a kid -- and yes it was a long time ago -- we frequently made costumes, but there were store-bought costumes available even then. The big difference that I've noted is that the quality and variety of costumes has expanded significantly. This coincides with the increase in the amount of buzz that Halloween gets these days.

Some people object to Halloween mostly on religious grounds. They feel it promotes a belief in satanic figures and such. As for me, I tend to think of it as a time when kids and adults can dress up in silly costumes -- and sometimes scary costumes -- and get free candy. You know, sort of a dentists dream!

Costumes popular with kids frequently center around movies and TV shows. This year will probably be no different. WIth summer blockbuster release of movies like Batman: The Dark Knight, Ironman, Speed Racer, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, The Hulk, Wall-E, Hellboy, The Mummy, and Star Wars: Clone Wars, you can be sure all those characters will be on the radar for kids' costumes. But don't forget perennial favorites like Superman, Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Robin, Spider Man, and all the Disney princesses such as Ariel The Little Mermaid, Pocahontas, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Mulan, Jasmine, Snow White, Belle.

Cartoon and book characters such as Sponge Bob Squarepants, Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, Tigger are favorites of the younger set.

Classic costumes such as Robin Hood, firemen, policemen, and others may appeal to certain youngsters.

For adults, the themes are many and some are naughty. And, of course, since it's the political season I'm sure John McCain and Barack Obama will be frequent visitors to Halloween parties. Old-timers may still come as Richard Nixon or Lyndon Johnson - they'll just have to explain who they are to the generation x-ers.

Whatever your fancy you can probably find a costume these days.

But, a word of warning -- or maybe just a friendly reminder -- the earlier you shop the better your selection in variety and sizes!

Dolls House Decoration is much easier than it looks. It is a time consuming process but it is very enjoyable to see an empty shell of a dolls house turn into an exquisite home. You can decorate your dolls house by painting, wallpapering, carpeting, tiling, creating stone work or cladding the walls in wood. There are so many different ways to make your dolls house unique with different techniques of decorating.

The most common and easiest ways to decorate your dolls house is by painting, wallpapering and carpeting. These are the methods that most people choose to begin with and then when they have a little more experience some move on to wood cladding, tiling and creating stone work.

Papering your doll house doesn't have to be reserved for the interior. You can purchase lots of different brick papers to paper the exterior of your doll house and give it an authentic look. If you are wallpapering, inside or outside your doll house, make sure you use the correct adhesive. Papering your doll house doesn't have to be reserved for the interior. You can purchase lots of different brick papers to paper the exterior of your doll house and give it an authentic look. If you are wallpapering, inside or outside your doll house, make sure you use the correct adhesive. You can purchase special wallpaper adhesive from doll house stores but if you can't find this you can use normal household wallpaper paste which is just as effective.

If you decide to paint your doll house you should use a non acrylic based paint. A normal mat emulsion that you can pick up from any DIY store is fine to use. Apply the paint using a small sponge radiator roller to get a smooth finish.

Card making is a rewarding and fun hobby. Not only do you get to be creative and play around with your favourite craft supplies, but you also have the opportunity to make personalised and unique gifts for someone special in your life.

Making cards is simple, but when you're still learning what to do, it can be difficult to know where to start. A good starting place is to decide what embellishments you would like to use to decorate your card. My favourite embellishments are:

1. Patterned Papers - There is a huge number of patterned papers to choose from. I suggest you check your local scrapbooking store and pick out some of your favourites. Often papers are so detailed and exquisite that you don't need any other embellishments for your card. I tend to buy a lot of floral papers as they make interesting backgrounds. Plus, you can cut out individual flowers as your centrepiece.

2. Stickers - Stickers make great centrepieces for your cards. And again, there is a huge range of stickers on the market for you to choose from. There is everything from cute baby shapes to sophisticated flourishes and swirls. So no matter what your taste and style, you will be able to find something appropriate for your project. If you are a little more advanced and have a bit more time on your hands, you may prefer to use stamps instead of stickers.

3. Ribbon - Ribbons are the perfect way to add texture and dimension to your cards. Muted natural colours give your cards an elegant feel while bright colours make your card look more funky.

4. Brads - Brads are another way of adding dimension to your cards. You can arrange them in patterns to give the impression of different shapes or you can use them to secure other elements like tags and ribbons to your cards.

5. Ink Pads - Technically ink pads are not considered an embellishment, but I would never make cards without a few ink pads on standby. I often use them to ink the edges of my papers to give them a softer and more interesting look.

Once you've chosen your embellishments, you're all set to start making gorgeous cards of your own.

Author of two books and many short stories, J.P. Ransom is busily writing a series of books called Colla'd Greens and two more upcoming books including a sequel to Born Evil. Obviously this author has caught the writer's flu!

Born Evil is a compact, 150-page book that is printed on acid-free paper - which may be of interest to the environmentally conscious consumer. I would categorize this book as a chilling horror, which involves an infant that is born evil. Traumatized by early experiences, only compounds Jonathan's natural inclination - a cruel desire to cause harm. Unprepared for a disturbed child, his adopted parents are continually wallowing in deep pits of overwhelming uncertainty. Rick suspects the truth, but Trish finds it very hard to imagine or even accept that little Jonathon is capable of such hateful acts.

I think the book makes a good point that some people are simply born with a desire to do harm, with no abusive situation to attribute these urges to. Readers are also shown how these urges can easily be encouraged through socially acceptable entertainment and through being witness to violent acts.

While reading Born Evil, I experienced a wide range of emotions from anger to sorrow and shock. The conclusion was exceptional and I look forward to J.P. Ransom's sequel."

Anyone interested in purchasing a copy of J.P. Ransom's book (ISBN# 1410788520) may find it useful to do an Internet search on the author. Reader may order the book in at any retail or online bookstore or through their local library.

The tradition of putting wreaths on doors and walls started in the 7th century B.C. when tree branches were used to crown the winners of the Olympic games. When exactly the wreath moved from the head to the door is unknown but the athletes probably hung their crowns on their wall and it took off from there.

One of the most popular holiday decorations is the Christmas wreath. Christmas wreaths are hung on doors, windows, fences, gates, from the stairway with garland or over the fireplace and used as centerpieces or advent wreaths on the table. Homes or offices don't seem festive during the holiday season without this favorite decoration. Many people with second homes they don't use during the holiday season still make sure there's a wreath on the door to share the spirit of the season with their neighbors.

Many people make their own Christmas wreaths using decorations of meaning to them. A bird lover might decorate their wreath with small birds and different types of berries birds love like holly berries. A gardener may decorate their wreath with dried flowers like hydrangeas, fruits like apples or cranberries and blueberry or grape vines and twigs, all harvested from their own gardens. A lover of the sea might add seashells, clamshells, sea urchin shells and starfish to their wreath. These decorations are placed in the balsam fir and pine boughs they have cut, sometimes from their own property. These wreaths make great meaningful gifts to give to friends and family.

Fall wreaths are very popular. Autumn leaves can be used as a base. Twigs, vines and branches are used. Bright, burgundy burning bush branches are beautiful. Add decorations throughout the fall like small pumpkins and ghosts for Halloween and turkeys and small cornucopia type dried fruits for Thanksgiving.

A spring wreath can add to Easter or Mother's day celebrations. Freeze-dried flowers are typically used on spring wreaths. Pink roses, daffodils, pansies, miniature carnations, seeded eucalytptus, white larkspur and artemisia are popular choices.

Herb wreaths are wonderful additions to any kitchen or dining room. They are made with bouquets of different herbs. Herbs like Mexican or Greek oregano, sage, marjoram, bay laurel, lavender, red hot chilies, basil, bay leaves and thyme are used. There are numerous combinations of colors and textures that can be used and individual tastes dictate which herb wreath is chosen.

The many different types of wreaths are beautiful decorations for walls or doors, inside or outside your home or office. Hanging a different wreath for every season keeps both you and your guests aware that a new season has arrived.

Lynn Jebbia is the owner of Acadia Wreath Company. Christmas wreaths and Christmas centerpieces are handcrafted from fresh Maine balsam fir and shipped directly to customers and corporate clients throughout the United States.

Sexy Cheeky Butt Out Cowgirl Halloween Costume - SMALL

Sexy cowgirl costume includes cowboy hat, neckband, bra top with faux fur trim, pant legs with faux fur, belt and thong. (pants looks like chaps)

Do you remember the good times when you had during the 50's? The decade when Rock and Roll was born? The decade that meant good times is just starting? The fly, the twist, the mambo jambo, the rhumba, the La Bamba, the Boogie and those other wild crazy dancing? What about the fashion? Do you remember what it's like during those times? During this decade, the raw materials of Scottish tweeds and English worsted suit materials were renowned as being of exceptional quality.

The wools were also used by the French and the British did everything they could to promote the fine materials with fine designs. The result would be 1950s glamour. But before that, 18-year-old girls used to dress up as if they are older than their mothers and with the revolutionary style of the late 1950's, out-of-style fashion and elaborate designs came out with a rampage. Wouldn't it be fun to relive those 1950's fashion even just once every year? How about this coming Halloween? You can even opt to celebrate it wearing the Fifties Halloween costumes.

If you're thinking about 50's-styel Halloween costumes, perhaps, the closest thing that you're going to get is an Elvis Presley costume. The King of Rock n Roll was famous not only for his cornerstone fusion of rock n rolls, country, rhythm and blues and gospel music, but he was also famous for the clothes that he wore.

Even up to now, you can still see some traces of Elvis influence wherever you go. Why, even making the collar of your sports shirt stand from one shoulder to another reaching both of your ears is a sure sign of Elvis-style clothing. Costumes of the King of Rock and Roll are always in high demand and this has been further fueled by both Stag Night parties and, more lately, cricket fans where you commonly see a whole group of Elvis running around either swaying their pelvis or just walking cat-style.

Elvis has always had a distinctive style and any age group will surely be fascinated by his guts of being different from the rest. And even in any different occasion or just on ordinary days, people find themselves fancy a clothing style influenced by Elvis.

Today, a lot of costume retailers have a wide selection of Elvis and other 50's, late 50's and early 60's costumes that will surely make heads turn during the Halloween event. There are even some available elaborate Elvis costumes that would tickle the fancy of show performers and impersonators anywhere.

But always remember, you don't have to be expensive to be genuine and a stand-out. You can just dress up an early-Elvis costume that's made up of skinny fit jeans, white tee, black jacket, a gel-style combed-back hair and a pair of stick-on sideburns and you is done.

But what if you don't want to be like Elvis? Well, you don't have to miss out the Halloween fun just because you don't want to look like The King. Cats can wear jeans with turn-ups, the same white tee and swept-back "greased" hair and the chicks can go around with clam digger trousers, tight jumper and a chiffon scarf worn in the hair and if you think that the sun still shines on you even if it's night time already, go and get some 50's-style dark sunglasses.

So, whether you want to be like Elvis, Fats Domino, Ritchie Valens or The Platters, for sure, you can find these Fifties Halloween costumes to be a stand-out in the crowd, whether you bought it offline or online or you might have made one for your own by yourself.

Sexy Cuddly Lion Costume Adult

Includes a dress with attached tail, plush ears, arm warmers and leg warmers. Shoes not included.

On Halloween, children of all ages don their carefully chosen costumes of ghosts, super heroes, monsters, and everything in between, and head out at sunset to roam the streets, going door to door asking neighbors for candy and other yummy treats. In the beginning, though, Halloween was more than just a fun time for children. Halloween is a very old holiday, dating back to pagan traditions.

Celtic Tradition

Its origins date back to a Celtic festival called Samhain (pronounced Sah-ween or Sow-in). The Celts celebrated the beginning of the new year on November 1st. On the last evening of the year, October 31, they believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to the earth. These ghosts roamed the world, causing damage to crops and performing other mischief, as they searched for living bodies to possess.

Not surprisingly, the living were not keen to have their bodies inhabited by these ghosts, so on that night, they would dress in scary costumes, and parade the town, hoping to frighten the spirits away, and make it to the morning unscathed.

After the Celtics lands were taken by the Romans, Samhain was absorbed with two Roman holidays. Feralia was a day in October to commemorate the passing of the dead. Pomona was a day to celebrate the goddess of fruit and trees. (The symbol of Pomona was an apple, which may explain the adoption of the Halloween tradition of bobbing for apples.)

All Saints and All Souls

In the 7th century, in an attempt to replace substitute Samhain with a Christian holy day, the Catholic Church named November 1 as All Saint's Day, a day to honor saints and martyrs. The church tried again in the 9th century, making November 2 All Souls Day, a day when the living prayed for the souls of the dead. Neither attempt was very successful. Trick-or-treating is said to have developed from the All Souls Day custom of people going village to village begging for "soul cakes" bread made with currants. The more cakes they received, the more prayers they would offer on behalf of the givers dead relatives who were in purgatory. However, some sources say that this tradition had all but disappeared long before the North American tradition of trick-or-treating began.

By the 1500s, All Saint's Day had become All Hallows' Day, and Samhain had begun to be known as All Hallows' Evening, Hallow Evening, and eventually, Halloween. After the Reformation, Halloween celebrations were combined with Guy Fawkes' Day (November 5).

Halloween in North America

In the New World, Halloween was not celebrated. In fact, because of the Puritan tradition, all celebrations were considered immoral and even Christmas was scarcely observed before the 1800s.

Halloween was not a popular festival, but it did increase in popularity with the arrival of two million Irish immigrants fleeing the potato famine. Nonetheless, by the end of the Civil War, in 1865, less than 5% of the United States population (mostly the Catholics and Episcopalians) celebrated Halloween and All Saints' Day. Determined to continue these traditions, the churches started campaigns to popularize the celebration. There is little documentation, however on Halloween prior to the 1900s.

IN 1921, Anoka, Minnesota had the first official citywide Halloween celebration. In 1923, New York joined in and LA in 1925. It was not long before Halloween was a nationwide celebration.

About the Author: Jean Rennick enjoys many of the Halloween traditions, especially the Halloween candy. For more information on Halloween costumes and party planning, head over to http://Halloween.GetCelebrating.com.

HOT DIGGITY DOG: This Halloween, your dog will really be the HOT DOG you always knew he or she could be. This Medium Costume is topped with Ketchup.
Customer Review: Hot Dog Brandy
I was well pleased with this product. Shipping was lightning fast. It was correct size and was the hit of family get-together.

This costume is interesting. It is pretty flimzy across the back. It just straps under the tummy. We couldn't get it to stay on our dog.

Create a memorable walkway. Trick or treaters will be coming up and down your walkway all night on Halloween. So you'll want to do something special for Halloween to decorate. An inexpensive way to decorate is with paper bag lumineres. You can make these with paper lunch bags, small rocks and tea lights. Cut small images in each paper bag -- like a pumpkin or a witch hat. Then add some rocks to the bottom of each luminere as it lines your walkway. Add a tea light and light it. The lumineres will glow softly and people will see the images that you cut out.

Add a Halloween-themed wreath to the door. Your door should have a Halloween-themed wreath to greet everyone that comes to your door. A fun Halloween-themed wreath to make is to use silk roses to create a wreath and then spray them to be colored black or even silver. A wreath that is a unique color will get lots of attention. A black wreath is especially attention getting for Halloween.

Don't forget Jack (O'Lanterns)! Now what would Halloween be without Jack O'Lanterns? Every home should have Jack O'Lanterns in front of their doorstep. But you want your home to look original. An easy way to get an original look is to do a Jack O'Lantern for each family member in a very simple carving style. Cut two holes for the eyes and a hole for the mouth. These bold, expressive Jack O'Lanterns will be the envy of the neighborhood and everyone will notice just how great your porch looks.

Set the scene with spooky music. Every home should welcome their Halloween guests with spooky -- or Halloween themed --- music. You can easily find soundtracks at party centers or large discount stores. Set up your CD player right by the door, or put a speaker in your mailbox. Another option is to open a second floor window and pipe the music through that. Be sure to be considerate of your neighbors and turn the music off before 9:30 p.m. as many will be putting kids to bed or turning in themselves.

Greet your guests dressed in Halloween style. Get into the total Halloween spirit with a Halloween costume that suits your home's decor. If your home is extra spooky, then you should be dressed in something spooky. If your home is quaint and cute -- then you too should be dressed in something quaint and cute. Party rental stores are great places to find adult costumes perfect to get for Halloween. Or you can easily purchase a Halloween costume to wear for this special night. Online resources such as http://www.pumpkinkits.com offer many ideas and this will give you the perfect looking home that the whole neighborhood will be talking about all season long!

COMPUTERS AND HALLOWEEN, DO THEY MIX?

Computer backup is so important to your computer that to ignore it is to risk its damnation.

Computers require care and feeding. They require that you attend to their needs. If you dont, then they will most surely be sent to Hell.

Halloween means Hell. What! What do you mean that Halloween means Hell?

Well, if your computer is given the option of trick or treat, which will it accept? Will it accept the trick or the treat? What do you think?

Halloween is the time that computers are subject to tricks or treats. Did you know that more computers fail on Halloween than any other day of the year? Thats right. Its true (smile). Your computer is in danger! Protect it. Do your computer backups.

Back to the Hell thing. Hell you say? Yep. Well, what do you mean by Hell?

Computer hell is the place for computers without computer backup. The failure to perform hard drive backup means that you are playing Russian Roulette with your data. Data needs your protection. Failure to protect your data may cause your home or business records to be sent to Hell.

Hell in this instance is for the records and files that cannot be resurrected. Resurrected you say, what does that mean?

It means that without computer backup as a source of salvation then the files can safely enjoy eternal oblivion. Oblivion you say, what does that mean? That means they are eternally lost from computer resurrection.

Is there any mercy for my precious files, you ask?

Why yes there is. Would like to know what the mercy for your files is? Yes! Yes! You say.

OK boys and girls listen carefully. The salvation, mercy, resurrection and redemption of your files lies in regular and consistent and persistent computer backup.

If you backup your computer consistently and persistently your files will be resurrected and saved from accidental deletion, hard drive failure and those nasty things like fire, flood, theft, earthquake, hurricanes, tornados and the like!

Computer backup is the key to your datas salvation!

With Halloween fast approaching, Executive Defense Technology is doing a lot of radio and TV interviews on Halloween safety for your kids. An area that they are being quizzed on is safety tips for teenagers that head out for a night of fun.

Remember, Halloween is for teens, too. It is an incredibly exciting time for them because this is the age where kids want to venture out for Trick-or-Treat fun without their parents. They are at an age where being on their own is not only cool but a necessary part of their development as they make their way into adulthood. The good news for you is that you can let them go with a few common sense safety tips:

1. Teenagers should head out in a group of least four individuals or more. Heading out alone is not an option! Make sure your teenager is with a group of good friends. Make sure that they know everyone well. Halloween is not a good time to be running around costumed in the dark with strangers or new friends they are not very familiar with.

2. Make sure you know exactly where your teenager will be when they are out. Ask them what their plans for the night are and hold them to it. Knowing where your teenager is on Halloween, is not about not trusting them, it is about safety. It is about you, the parent being able to find them in an emergency. Send your child out with a cell phone and have then check in periodically, every 45 minutes/ hour - whatever the two of you agree upon, just to let you know where they are and that they are okay.

3. Teenagers also need to keep their eyes open for the smaller, younger kids. This is one of the nights of the year where all age groups mix together. Teens, even with the excitement of being out on their own should keep their eyes open for the younger kids in case there is someone who needs help or just to simply keep from running into them or tripping over them. Smaller kids are more easily injured when running into larger kids simply because they are smaller.

4. Set a specific time with your child that they need to be home. This year, Halloween falls on a weekday. This means kids have school the next day. Have them home no later than 10 p.m. It will take another hour or so for them to calm down and relax before they can head to bed. Yes, tomorrow, they'll be tired but the day after is also a part of Halloween memories.

What about those younger ghosts and goblins? How can we keep them safe? Actually, one of the biggest threats that parents sometimes overlook on this fun day isn't going to come from a poisoned piece of candy or a predator lurking in the bushes. Although, we don't want to minimize those risks either. The biggest danger on Halloween for kids is - injuries from tripping and falling. The majority of injured children showing up in the Emergency Room will do so with broken arms or wrists, chipped teeth and cuts and bruises from falling or tripping in the dark due to excitement and obstructed vision from masks.

As parents, we are enjoying ourselves visiting with neighbors and talking as we travel "around the block" from house to house. While you do so, here are some tips for keeping your kids safe so everyone can have a fun, memorable, safe evening:

1. Arm you kids with flashlights so they can negotiate their way down dark paths. A small, bright light that fits nicely in their hands is best. Make sure any flashlight has fresh batteries and illuminates well. Carry one yourself.

2. Remind the kids, before leaving the house about street safety. In their excitement, don't let them rush out in front of a car. Larry Elliott, of Executive Defense Technology, also recommends placing reflective tape on your child's shoes and on their costumes.

3. Make sure your child's shoes fit and are tied properly. Keep costumes above the ground by a few inches so your youngster doesn't trip on it while walking and running.

And since we don't want to forget about "Personal Safety", make sure your children (young and older) follow these suggestions so they don't become "easy targets" for predators:

1. Stay in well lit areas and avoid dark, lonely locations / paths.

2. Be aware of your surroundings at all times. If someone makes you uncomfortable, cross the street, head the other direction and go to a house of a family that you know and trust. (Review "Safe Houses" with your kids BEFORE Halloween so they know exactly where they can go for help)

3. Never give your name or details about yourself to a stranger.

4. Only visit the houses of the neighbors that you know and are familiar with - don't drop your children off in areas you are unfamiliar with.

5. Let the adults be the one to answer the door to Trick-or-Treaters. Don't let the children answer by themselves.

6. Never get close to or into a strangers car or go with them ANYWHERE. If a car pulls up, advise your children to take a few steps back. They should never get close enough so they can be grabbed unexpectedly. If someone needs help or directions, they should be asking an adult - not a child!

7. If you are approached, use your voice! FBI statistics say that 70-80% of assaults can be stopped by good verbal boundaries alone.

Staying safe is a choice! We still have a few days before the Halloween holiday - practice and rehearse safety with your kids so they know what is expected of them and how to prevent accidents or assaults BEFORE they happen.

Have a safe, fun Halloween!

Adult Robot Halloween Costume (Standard Size)

The Fourth Of July is an American holiday somewhere between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
It is a time when Americans celebrate their unique heritage and eating hot dogs are as traditional
as apple pie. During the eighteen-sixties, hots dogs were sold from pushcarts by German immigrants in the Bowery section of New York City along with sauerkraut and milk rolls. They were originally made from pork products. Nowdays, they are also made with turkey and beef or all beef making them a much healthier food choice. The bun has always been an important part of what makes a hot dog so special. For the carb and the cholesterol concious, sugar-free whole wheat buns are substituted.

The hot dog meal begins with a chili and cheese combination that includes: dill relish, prepared mustard
and some chopped onion.

Chili Cheese Hot Dog

1-turkey and beef or an all-beef hot dog, pre-cooked

2-heaping Tlbs. commerically prepared brick chili, pre-heated

1-hot dog bun, toasted in a skillet

1-tsp. prepared mustard

1-tsp. dill relish

1/2-cup chopped onion

1/2-cup shredded cheese

Directions: Open the hot dog bun and butter it. Heat a skillet and toast the bun. Place the cooked hot dog inside it and top with the pre-heated chili and the cheese. Place under a broiler heated to 350 degrees and cook for five minutes. Remove and add the mustard, the relish and the chopped onion. Serve with french fries and cole slaw.

Easy Cole Slaw

(Serves 4)

1-package cole slaw, chopped>br>
1/2-cup shredded carrots

1/2-cup onion, chopped

1/2-cup bell pepper, chopped

Salt & pepper

1-Tlb. olive oil

1-tsp. rice wine vinegar

Directions: Combine the vegetables. In a separate bowl: Wisk the olive oil and the rice wine vinegar. Season with the salt and the pepper. Pour the dressing over the ingredients and toss until the ingredients are well combined.

Hot Dogs And Sauerkraut

1-hot dog, pre-cooked

1-hot dog bun

1-slice onion, cut into half

Sauerkraut, pre-cooked

Sweet hot mustard

Directions: On an un-heated bun add the mustard evenly and put the cooked hot dog into it. Add the sauerkraut, the mustard and the onion slice. Serve with some corn chips and baked beans.

Baked Beans

(Serves 4)

2-cans prepared baked beans

1-heaping Tlb. brown sugar

1-heaping Tlb. mustard

3/4-cup ketchup

1-tsp molasses

Salt & pepper

Directions: Combine the ingredients and season with the salt and the pepper. Line a medium baking dish with foil. Pour the ingredients into the baking dish and bake in a 350 degree oven until they are done.

Sometimes, hot dogs are really delicious when they are cooked in a skillet and then put inside a cold hot dog bun with only some mustard for added flavor.

The hot dog meal ends with a favorite flavor of ice cream scopped into an individual bowl or dipped onto the top of an ice cream cone.

Adult's Super Mario Halloween Costume (Size: Large 42-44)

Customer Review: Pretty good for a quick Halloween costume with a popular character
Its good, very colorful and fits very good. You might need to do little ajustments but overall good.

Halloween is a fun time of year for children of all ages-and all species. For those of you who are pet lovers you might already know that you can find creative cat and dog Halloween costumes to make the holiday even more special for you and your furry friend. If this is something that you are interested in there are a few different options that you can look into to learn more about the topic. The first suggestion would be to search online to get an idea of what you would like to dress your pet up as. You can also go to the larger pet stores to see what they might have to offer you for information on the subject.

Once you know what type of creative costume your want for your pet you will need to decide what you will use for accessories. If you are planning on having your cat be a dog for Halloween you might want to have him wear bones made out of paper around his neck. Just something simple and cute like that would work. Why not have your pet's costume match the theme as your children's? Your little girl could be Bo Peep while your black lab could be her lost sheep. Looking for an idea that is a little more complicated? Have your son be Elliot and your rat terrier can be E.T. the alien. The most fun part about Halloween is that you get to let your imagination and creativity run wild.

If you are planning on taking your old pooch "trick-or-treating" with the family you will want to take this into consideration, does the costume work well with a collar and leash? You wouldn't want something tragic to happen to your beloved friend on such a joyous evening. In the even that you might be out past dark you should put reflective tape on the collar and leash of your pets. You could also purchase these accessories that are made for doing such activities in the dark. Also, make sure the costume fits properly. Too small of a costume could be hazardous to your pet because it might not allow your pet to move as easily. If danger where to head your way your pet might not be able to get out of the way in time due to the restrictions. Always be sure to never leave your pet unattended while in a costume. An animal can easily become tangled up while wearing a costume and this could lead to serious injuries or even death.

You can shop for your cat or dog Halloween costume at most pet stores. Online is another option for shopping. Many pet suppliers have catalogues that you can have shipped right to your door to look through. You will be able to mail in an order or even make a purchase online. Making your own costume is another possibility. You can find free patterns or patterns for a relatively low cost online or at fabric stores. Whichever method you decide to use to allow your pet to join in on the fun is up to you. Just be sure to have the perfect fit for the safety of your pet. Don't forget to give your pet a couple treats, too.

Sexy Lady Marie Lady Of The Court Halloween Costume

Leg Avenue Lady Marie Costume, Includes Brocade Dress with Cameo Bow 83322
Customer Review: Royalty
For Halloween I always wear Leg Avenue costumes, so I was exited when I found this Marie Antoinette dress from that brand. I was a little worried because I didn't know if my arms or bust would fit into the medium I bought because mine are a little bigger than most girls. It fit perfect when I put it on, although it does flatten my chest a little. Otherwise, it makes you feel really sexy, I know blue is the classic Marie Antoinette color but the peach is beautiful as well. The only part of it that is that typical flimsy costume material is the upper back, but that helps it stretch to fit you. Warning: it is super super short, so I know next Halloween i won't be bending over or doing the Beyonce or getting too drunk. I can't wait to wear this!

If you're like me, you have wasted the last 2 months thinking about what you're going to be for Halloween without actually deciding and acting on any one idea.

Halloween is coming up quickly and you still have no idea what you're going to be. You don't have the time to create the superb costume you had brewing in your mind for the last couple months, but you still want to dress to impress.

Below you'll find 8 quick and easy costume ideas that are guaranteed to be a success this Halloween.

Costume Idea #1:

Kimbo Slice. A Kimbo Slice costume is easy to put together, all you need is a giant fake beard, some jewellery, and a white tank top that reads overrated. You'll be a "hit" at any Halloween party.

Costume Idea #2:

A ghost dressed as a ghost. The whole ghost costume is played out, but you can reinvent it using two bed sheets instead of one. Cut eye holes in two sets of sheets and draw a mouth and nose on both, put them both on, tie a rope around your waist to keep the costume on and when people ask tell them you are a ghost dressed as a ghost.

Costume Idea #3:

Facebook profile. All you need for this costume is a giant piece of cardboard and some felt pens. Cut a hole in the top left corner of the cardboard, that's the profile picture section, then log into Facebook and copy how your main profile page looks. This one will win you costume contests.

Costume Idea #4:

A television set. Like the Facebook profile, this costume needs only cardboard and felt pens, but this one is much easier to make. Cut a hole, color the cardboard, you can even go the extra mile and add some dials or knobs and an antenna. Dress up like a newscaster, a sports star, or anything really. Just be sure to stay in character all night. You'll earn brownie points for having different outfits for when people want to change the channel.

Costume Idea #5:

Zack Morris from Saved by the Bell. Grab a blonde wig, some tight jeans, a pair of high tops, and an 80's sweater. Everything you need can be found at a local thrift store and when you put them all together, you have the perfect Zack Morris for under $20.

Costume Idea #6a:

A monster dressed as a human. A simple twist on the old "I'm dressed as a person" costume trick. You can put on some fake claws or something, then tell them underneath this costume is a killer monster.

Costume Idea #6b:

That guy. You can always dress up as "that guy." The guy who always shows up without a costume but claims to be dressed as himself, the guy who doesn't feel like taking 20 minutes out of his busy schedule once a year to come up with something entertaining. The best part of this costume is the number of guys who will be costume-less wherever you are, so when people ask what you are, just point and say "that guy!"

Costume Idea #6c:

You from x-amount of years ago. Find some old clothes of yours that are x-amount of years old and put them on, this costume idea is simple and hilarious when done right. Try to find the oldest clothes you can just fit into, or look for an old school photo and see if you can find the clothes from the picture. If you decide to go with the school photo option, it's a good idea to put the photo in your wallet for reference.

The only limit to what type of costume you can put together at the last minute is imagination. I hope the above list has offered you something to work with this year, or has helped you come up with something even better.

Dale M loves Halloween and costumes in general. He was once quoted as saying, "Halloween should be once a month at least, and 30 times a month at most!"

Gold Doubloon Pirate Plus Adult

Includes a lovely top with lace sleeves, long black skirt, and a red and black striped sash. Boots not included.
Customer Review: One of the hottest ladies at the party!
The girl in the pirate costume was still being talked about on New Year's Eve! I loved this costume and wish I had another chance to wear it. I was pleased with the quality and did not find any of the cheap substitutes that some reviewers complained about. Well worth it!
Customer Review: well made
I was invited to a halloween wedding where everyone was requested to come in costume......pirate and wench costumes. I found the costume to be fairly well made and when I ordered my size I found it to be a bit big......better that than small. I'm not comfortable in costumes but this one will be fun to wear.

Millions of people throughout the world take great joy in the hobby of collecting figurines. If you are thinking of starting your own collectible figurine collection, you can purchase your first figurine through various channels, such as buying it online or going to a wholesale figurine market.

Nowadays, figurine collection has become an interesting and fascinating hobby. In fact, with the use of the internet, starting your own figurine collection has become even easier. No matter what type of figurine you are looking for, you will find a wide range of collectible figurines available on the internet, which you can buy from the comfort of your own home and at a reasonable price too. You can also purchase figurines by bidding on online auctions. However, take care not to bid too much on figurines as you would not want your figurine collection to become a financial burden on you.

If you want to order a special type of figurine such as an angel figurine or a fairy figurine, be sure to ask the supplier to display the models and list of your choice. It is also important to specify the size of your figurine before placing the purchase order. Images and pictures of figurines online are often not truly representative of the actual size of the figurines and may often appear larger than the actual dimensions.

Furthermore, some special figurines such as angel figurine may cost you more, as they can be custom made according to your desire. The modern porcelain angel figurine comes in various materials and shapes, so be sure to specify the material and other features that you wish your angel figurine or fairy figurine to have. Fairy figurines are also available in many models and dimensions. Another type of collectible figurine that many people love to collect is the pewter figurine of mythical creatures.

If you consider your figurine collection to be of great value, you should consider passing it on to your future generation as collectible figurines increase in values over time. You will be surprised to know that there is a science to collecting figurines and the more you become involved in the hobby of collecting figurines, the more you will want to learn about it.

Before starting your collection, visit specialty shops like wholesale figurine shops or ask a few friends or relatives who are experienced in collecting figurines for suggestions on how to get started and also on how to negotiate successfully with sellers of figurines

If you are thinking of starting your own Figurine Collection visit figurine-collection.info. Susan also enjoys writing on a wide range of topics at http://www.home-and-family-hub.info.

Halloween is one of the most amazing holidays of the year! Much like Christmas and Easter, it has its own seasons of thrills and chills in itself. Doubters be damned, Halloween has singe-handedly resurrected fear from the pits of our subconscious and made it both into a commodity and an art form. In what other season do you see so many people lining up to see their favorite slasher flicks in droves, so many teenagers playing Silent Hill and Fatal Frame on their gaming consoles, and so many kids donning the freakiest costumes known to man in order to go out Trick or Treating? Truly Halloween is a cultural phenomenon unlike any other.

And one of the things that are not to be missed on that momentous occasion would be the immortal Halloween party. With the most ghoulish of games, the most devilish fun and the most wickedly sick costumes around, a Halloween party is one of the events where being freaky is the norm and desired behavior. And when you want you Halloween party to be the biggest party of the year, you'll definitely need people to fill up the venue. And how do you get these people to come in droves? With amazing invitations of course!

Creating the perfect Halloween invitations is actually much easier than you think. What you have to keep in mind though is that apart from being scary, the perfect Halloween invitation is always eye catching. So be sure to use strong and oh so scary colors such as black, red and orange. The customary ghost, vampire, werewolf, skeleton and witch would be a welcome addition as well.

You could also make your invitations a little better by using realistic touches like applying glue to look like cobwebs and splashing red paint to look like bloodstains. Or you can make it a whole lot more worthy of attention by making it a pop-out card, with your most ghoulish creation jumping out on your guest like a jack-in-the-box when they open it. This however requires a little more work, but the rewards for going this route can be spectacular.

The invitation however is only one of the many things you need to complete the ultimate Halloween themed party. If you want more ideas on how to make that Halloween party a complete success, from cuisine to costume, just visit: http://partythemeplace.com/category/article-pages/holiday-party-ideas/halloween-party/

Naturally when one thinks of Halloween you think of pumpkins.At this time of year we see pumpkinson every block and street corner. Beta-carotene has been identified as a leading heart-disease and cancer fighter. Pumpkin is low in calories and amazingly full of fiber. Pumpkins are 90 percent water andwere once recommended for removing freckles and curing snake bites.

Some celebrations are really special, and Hogmanay celebrated in Edinburgh is one of those celebrations indeed. A wealth of fun and partying goes on during this special time that turns a New Years celebration into something much bigger.

The Celebrations begin with a huge parade through the streets of Edinburgh city centre with all the participants carrying torches of fire. This incredible string of light is something spectacular to see, and ordinary people can be a part of it for a small fee. It's best to get your ticket in advance though as there are only a limited number of torches available and of course many more people want to take part than can carry torches.

Many hotels in Edinburgh have special tariffs for Hogmanay, and these can include tickets for various events that take place. If you've never stayed in Edinburgh during this festive season then you'll be in for a very big treat - assuming you enjoy a good party that is!

Various events from street theatre to street parties take place over Hogmanay, but the main event of the season is of course the New Years Eve celebrations. On New Years Eve, the city centre comes to life and a Street Party Pass can be bought which will allow you to be a part of various different events across the centre. Everyone joins in, and drinks flow and lots of food is eaten including some traditional fayre such as black bun. A traditional piper pipes in the New Year with a lone tune in the lead up to the clocks striking midnight, and then the party really kicks off with everyone hugging each other, and wishing each other a Happy New Year, linking arms and singing Old Lang Syne.

First footing is a wonderful Scottish tradition, to help bring luck to a household it is said that a tall dark haired man bearing gifts should be the first to cross the threshold of any home in the New Year. Traditionally the gift he carries should be a piece of coal or black bun, but these days that part is often left out, but the guest is still plied with food and drink as in the old ways of tradition.

For anyone who isn't all partied out, the 1st of January sees the continuation of the celebrations, and this year in Edinburgh the Royal Mile is the place to be. Feet First is a new and innovative event that will be taking place here, continuing the traditions of outdoor entertainment in this area, Feet First will weave music, song, theatre, light and sound together into a celebration of the start of the year. Featuring over 120 performers it's expected to attract up to 10,000 people and will be one of the largest celebrations of new Scottish work in 2009.

For more on the special tarrifs on Edinburgh Hogmanay accommodation mentioned above, visit our Edinburgh Hogmanay site.

How to Say No When You Don't Want the Food

A friend's doctor said he should lose 10 pounds and so he is trying to break his sugar habit. He generally eats well during the day but his downfall is cookies while watching TV. At an office luncheon when dessert was being served, he said, "No thanks, I don't want any." A well meaning co-worker then foisted dessert on him, shoving it in front of him and saying, "You're doctor is wrong, have some," leaving him staring at the dessert then back to us with a sorrowful look on his face.

Your Friend Is Trying to Make You Happy by Offering You Food

His co-worker probably was not out to sabotage him, but more likely was remembering the last time she said no when she really
wanted to say yes. She wished someone would have made the decision for her, albeit against her wishes, and then she could have eaten the dessert because it wouldn't be polite to refuse (or some other excuse), so now she's doing him the favor. She is wrong, but that's the way people generally are. We all understand the pain of deprivation and want to make it better for each other.

Devise a Plan for Dealing with Sabotaging Food Pushers

First, if you do want some dessert, have some, enjoy it and move on with your life. It is not a big deal to have a dessert, even if you're already over full. It's one eating event out of thousands. But when you are being pushed into something you don't want it's no different than being offered drinks when you're underage; peer pressure doesn't stop because you graduate from high school.

You Don't Have to Explain: Just Say No

If you're making an effort to make better choices, choosing to eat only foods that really appeal to you, and learning to say no when you just don't want any, you can tell the food pusher, "No, thanks," and leave it at that. You don't owe anyone an explanation. You could also take a plate and let it sit there. Most people are so preoccupied with themselves they won't notice whether you're eating. If someone does ask, "Aren't you going to eat your cake," you could say, "In a minute." Keep busy talking and just delay until it's time to go, then discretely set the plate aside.

If you watch the thinner folks at parties you'll notice they talk a lot and eat little. It's difficult to talk and gesture while holding a drink in one hand and a plate of food in the other.

If the food seems to be calling your name and it's becoming more difficult to resist since it's sitting in front of you then simply pretend it is made of plastic, like the display food in a Chinese restaurant. It's not meant to be eaten, just admired. Then admire it all you like.

Why do we need to resort to trickery to make our own food choices? Because food pushers are not going to accept your arguments, no matter how well you state your case, so don't bother fighting a losing battle. You can't change their mind; they want to eat some and they'd feel better if you ate some too. You can't change other people, you can only change yourself.

Remember the next time you feel the urge to push food on someone, food means love in our society, but choice means more. Offer it, and then let it go if they say no.

Child's Toddler Batman Begins Halloween Costume (2-4T)

For parents who are not big fans of sugar, chocolate, or artificial colors and flavors, Halloween presents a real dilemma. You don't want to be the heavy and spoil the fun, but on the other hand, you also may not be eager to deal with a kid who is hyped up on sugar for weeks or even months after the big day. Here are some ways to handle that gargantuan pile of candy:

1.) Let them eat all they want for a certain period of time, then throw out the rest. Share your opinions about health and nutrition with your child, and collaborate together on a time frame that feels relatively okay for both of you.

Expect major indulgence during that time. You are not allowed to make even one tiny little comment like "Are you eating candy again?" or mutter as much as single "I told you so" under your breath. The beauty of this option is that your child gets to experience his own tummy ache, sugar crash, headache, brain fog, or whatever. And when you stay out of it, he's got nowhere to place the blame except the candy.

By the way, I asked my dentist about this, and she said a few days of total indulgence is not likely to lead to tooth decay. It's far more damaging to bathe the teeth in juice, soda, coffee with sugar, or hard candy on a regular basis. So you've got the green light from her to use the approach.

Oh, and if you go this route, you might feel better about it if you focus on serving ultra-nutritious meals during that time.

2.) Let them have one piece a day. When we did this, the candy became a major focus of every day- which kind, when would they get to eat it, could they have just one more piece today, pretty please, Mom? I was the candy controller, which was a job I didn't care for. This option may deprive your child of getting to experience the joys and perils of overindulgence, and thus remove the opportunity for her to learn to regulate her own intake. Some kids will lose interest or forget to ask at some point, and then you can just throw it away.

3.) Do nothing. Just keep serving nutritious meals and snacks, and let them work it out on their own. The idea would be to fill 'em up with tempting and tasty healthy stuff, thus leaving less room for candy and giving their bodies more nutrients with which to process the junk. When my kids were little, I was too much of a nutrition and control freak for this to work for me, but I put it in the list for those of you who are more laid back and trusting than I was.

4.) Buy them off. Some parents pay money, and others prefer to exchange toys or fun activities for the candy. This can work pretty well if the payoff is big and exciting enough. I met hardly any resistance when I made the offer a day or two after Halloween. When they are getting sick of candy anyway, a new toy or trip to the aquarium looks pretty appealing.

5.) Teach them the possible effects that candy could have on their bodies, moods, and concentration, tell them you know that they will figure out what feels best for their bodies, and let it go. Invest your energy in being a good role model and preparing nutritious meals instead.

6.) Substitute healthier versions. Sunspire makes tasty chocolate, Panda makes yummy licorice, and there are lots of other options at your local health food store, including vegan gummy bears!

7.) Argue about it every day until their trick or treat bucket is empty. Tell them their teeth will rot if they keeping eating all that candy. Try to make them feel guilty for liking sweets. And let me know how that works out for ya!

Batman Dark Knight The Joker Deluxe Adult Costume

Includes: Jacket with attached shirt, tie, vest, pants and mask. Gloves and shoes not included. This is an officially licensed Batman costume.
Customer Review: Decent costume, but mask sucks
The clothes are decent, although they form to your body like pajamas rather than a suit. The mask is pathetic. Completely pathetic. This might be a good thing, as it forces you to go with face paint instead of a mask.
Customer Review: The Nightmare Before Halloween
This costume is CHEAP in quality. You're better off shopping at the thrift store. I was very disappointed. I thought "Deluxe" costumes were supposed to be of better quality. And this is the one right under the $300 grand heritage/officially licenced one!!! I expected more. I also got an Elvira costume (fron her website) that was deluxe and it was FAR better!!!

For a novice event planner, nothing is more daunting than the question, "Mom, can I have a Halloween party?" There are Halloween decorations, costumes, recipes and activities to plan, which can be a big task. To throw the best party, try to keep the group small (10 is ideal) and organize Halloween fun games. Whether you're planning for a teenager, a pre-teen or a young child, there are a number of fun and affordable games to keep the entertainment rolling!

Halloween party games for younger kids can range from silly Halloween fun and getting-to-know-you games, to spooky ghost story telling and puzzle solving. An easy first game is "The Name Game," where index cards with monster or Halloween character names written on them are affixed to the back of each guest.

Then the person asks another guest "yes or no" questions until the right answer is guessed. Some kids love "pumpkin golf," which is a homemade golf game made out of a cardboard ramp, a carved pumpkin with an extremely large smile and a mini-golf set. "Ghost hunter" scavenger hunts always go over well for grade school children.

First wrap lollipops up like ghosts using white tissue paper and a black magic marker. Then hide them around the house and write clues about where they could be. To make it more competitive, create teams, such as "the witches," "the goblins" or "the werewolves," and have each team race back to place their lollipops into a bin as they find them, awarding a special prize to the winning team.

Or you may want to put a letter on each ghost that will form ten different Halloween words and award prizes as the kids guess them. You can also turn on "The Monster Mash" and have kids dance like monsters, freezing when the music is stopped. This will definitely have them cackling at the Halloween fun! Check out "Party Game Central" for more do-it-yourself ideas.

If you'd rather buy a few games than make them, then here are some Halloween party suggestions. Little kids will love the "Halloween Role Play Game," which can be purchased for $4.99 at Oriental Trading and plays up to six kids. The game includes a 10" spinner, 6 each of 8 assorted character cards, 6 "surprise" cards and instructions. They'll spin, pick a card and do an action, such as making bump sounds with their feet, talking like Frankenstein, doing the Monster Mash and acting like they've been zapped! Oriental Trading also has "Halloween Bend Game," which is an awesome seasonal version of Twister that kindergartners to teenagers will love! "Color Your Own Halloween Bingo" is another great game you can purchase for almost any age.

"Inflatable Halloween Limbo" or the "Inflatable Spider Ring Toss Game" are sure to add Halloween fun to your child's party. Ouija Boards are always creepy Halloween fun for teens. "Halloween Jenga" may be more your speed, with red and black blocks, custom rules and a special glow-in-the-dark die. If you roll a "pumpkin," then the direction of play is reversed; roll a "haunted house" and remove any piece or roll a "bat" and you can only remove an orange block. The Harry Potter "Scene It" DVD game is another fun one, testing kids of ages 8 and up with trivia from the Harry Potter movies.

One of the best Halloween Party games for adults is the "murder mystery dinner." Each party member will receive an advance invitation with instructions on the role they'll be playing. In your kit, you'll receive instructions on Halloween recipes to cook, what Halloween decorations to set up and even how to dress. Usually, character booklets, scripts and CD or DVDs will guide you through the plot to discover whodunit. A few recommended murder mystery games include: "Lethal Luau Murder Mystery Party Game" with a Hawaiian theme, "A Taste for Wine and Murder" with a Hollywood theme or "A Murder on the Grill" with a summer of 1950s theme. All are from Bepuzzled.
